The company, formed in 2020 through the combination of Raytheon Company and the United Technologies Corporation aerospace businesses, is headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts.

To realize our full potential, Raytheon Technologies is committed to creating a company where all employees are respected, valued and supported in the pursuit of their goals. We know companies that embrace diversity in all its forms not only deliver stronger business results, but also become a force for good, fueling stronger business performance and greater opportunity for employees, partners, investors and communities to succeed.

We are looking for an experienced and proven technical leader to oversee the transition of transformed applications from the new application factory to their operational state. This leader will oversee a team of change leaders in a fast-paced, distributed environment, partnering with functionally-aligned application service teams to ensure the successful launch of these new applications. His/her work will directly modernize our application footprint and will enable scalable new ways of delivering RTX applications with the highest level of excellence. This application and organizational transformation is core to unlocking the value of the merger.

As the Application Factory Excellence Leader you and your team will be responsible for managing the exit of applications from the factory. Core to this factory exit is ensuring factory exit steps have been followed including critical change management in partnership with application owners. Direct and ongoing partnership with the Application Factory Enablement Leader and Application Factory Delivery Leader is core to defining the factory process and crucial to ensure continuous improvement. In addition, partnering with the AMS Delivery Leader is critical to ensure successful handoffs of applications to be supported by the AMS partner.

Beyond heavy internal collaboration with parallel factory and functional service teams, building strong connectivity with the RTX infrastructure and cybersecurity teams is mission critical to ensure operational application requirements are in place to both keep the factory primed and meet synergy expectations. Central to this offboarding is the completion of the ATO process, working with cybersecurity to streamline this process before assuming traditional ATO timelines.

Roles of this level of change leadership are few and far between. The Application Factory Excellence Leader will fundamentally change how a 400+ employee organization works, transforming our application delivery for years to come, while directly driving a large part of our $34M application synergy goal.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the execution of application factory exits, delivering on the core value proposition of the factory: transformed and retired applications along with synergy-based savings

  • Define the EAS Application Factory process, collaborating with Application Factory leaders to create and operationalize this key organizational process

  • Negotiate roles & responsibilities with EAS service delivery teams, ensuring clear handoffs from the Application Factory

  • Manage the ongoing exit of applications from the EAS Application Factory, confirming and {where needed} building alignment with application owners on go-live plans

  • Drive organizational alignment and change management, critical to the success of the program

  • Confirm synergy realization for each application transformation or retirement

  • Partner with Cybersecurity to accelerate the authorization to operate (ATO) process, helping ensure this process does not become a gating factory for factory output

  • Assist in onboarding the AMS partner’s application support resourcing, partnering with the AMS Delivery Leader to ensure solid handoffs with our AMS partner

  • Coach and mentor leaders within the team to ensure program success, working through challenges and requisite cross-organizational facilitation

  • Contribute to building a culture of collaboration, accountability and respect within the enterprise applications team and community at RTX

  • Lead program managers and change leaders to deliver on one of the most impactful application programs in the history of hUTC & hRTN, defining the RTX application transformation

    Location: Remote

    Required Status:
