Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Military Engines F135 Fleet Operations is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter with strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to represent the P&W Team at the F-35 FACO (Final Assembly & Check Out) in Nagoya, Japan as a Field Service Engineer (FSE). This position is a customer facing role in a high visibility and team-oriented environment. Based at MHI (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) Nagoya, Japan.

Position Responsibilities:

-Supporting F-35A/F135 operations to include systems, tooling, material, and processes. The FSE will have hands-on interaction with the engine (software and hardware), aircraft, and production personnel.

-Ensuring comprehensive reporting on support activities including aircraft and engine status, flight reports, operational data, engine configuration status and parts consumption.

-Working closely with internal P&W teams (Customer Support Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Center, ALIS teams) to assist the unit in troubleshooting and resolution of emerging customer issues and maintain flexibility to resolve constantly changing customer priorities.

-Using self-initiative and judgment to identify problems, conduct investigations to determine root cause, and coordinate solutions between P&W, the Joint Strike Fighter Program Office, MHI and Lockheed Martin. Representative will be responsible for coordinating field issues with P&W Site Manager, Engineering, and Logistics Program Management.

-Complying with Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and participating in Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) initiatives.

-Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, specifically Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Education/Certifications:

-US Citizen, due to government contracts.

-A bachelor’s degree is required. Non-technical degrees will be considered if the candidate has appropriate / related experience.US Citizenship required due to government contracts.

-Selected candidate must possess a US Govt. Secret Clearance or have the ability to secure one for position requirements. Candidates that have had a clearance that has recently lapsed (not more than 2 years), may apply for consideration.

Experience/Qualifications:

-Military engine maintenance and/or flight operations

-Minimum 3 years of professional experience in engine/aircraft maintenance, logistics, and logistics support is desired.

-Dynamic problem solver with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to craft solutions to everyday challenges with creative new ideas.

-Strong communication and influential skills and the ability to work effectively with associates at all levels throughout the organization.

-Background in ITAR/ITC is desired for this assignment.

-Ability to travel for extended periods of time to support customer deployments. Domestic and International Travel.

-Must have the ability to rotate shifts and schedules to meet customer support and team objectives.

-Must be able to support an assignment length of 2+ years, dependent on business needs and personal development.
