Our Radar Sensor Systems (RSS) Department has an immediate opportunity for an early career Systems Integration Engineer with an ability to solve technical problems who has experience in system integration or a strong foundation in either electrical hardware/firmware or software combined with a desire to integrate at the system level. The I&T Engineer will join a system integration and test team providing data analysis and troubleshooting expertise responsible for delivering state of the art system-of-systems.
You will assist in system test execution and analysis ensuring system requirements are met. This I&T engineer will contribute to brain-storming sessions associated with troubleshooting new problems and communicate daily with the test team as well as other engineers associated with production test. In addition, you will look for innovative opportunities to increase efficiency and to cross-train with other members of the team. There may be opportunities for travel to support other labs. Testing Production systems in support of system hardware integration in System Integration Laboratory (SIL) test environments
Willingness to perform integration duties to include working both first and second shift (as needed for training, gap coverage, etc.)
Analyze system problems real-time and communicate issues to the engineering team
Utilize a strong foundation in either electrical hardware / firmware or software and along with data analysis skills, to troubleshoot and solve technical problems
Perform post-test execution analysis to verify and validate functionality as well as document and provide test procedure results
Be involved in the development and the documentation of complex solutions for non-standard applications
Work with multiple teams
Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
Experience in a related engineering environment (radar system operation/employment, electrical/computer engineering, applied physics, computer science, etc.) to include systems/hardware integration and troubleshooting.
Analyze system problems and communicate issues to the engineering team.
Written/verbal communication skills; Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Linux/UNIX (basic commands, directories, etc.)
Ability to test, analyze, and troubleshoot hardware, develop testing criteria, and evaluate complex issues discovered during ground and flight-testing radar systems
Willingness to work both 1st and 2nd shift (as needed for training, gap coverage, etc.)
Compile and analyze test data and provide detailed reports of test results
Must have an active and in-scope DoD Top Secret U.S. security clearance
Knowledge with general laboratory test setup and Special Test Equipment (Signal Generator, Oscilloscope, Network Analyzer, Spectrum Analyzer, etc.)
System testing in an integration lab environment
Knowledge of radar systems
Shell scripting/developing system evaluation tools
Willingness to travel periodically in support of offsite testing
Design and/or test radar systems
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline (preferably Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Physics)
Master’s Degree in a similar field
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems
