Job Description

This is a multi-faceted Industrial Security Specialist II position within a Special Program environment. The ideal candidate will help develop, administer and maintain a comprehensive security training program in a fast paced, deadline driven environment. The candidate will also have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interface with the government customers and employees at all levels. Organizational skills to include attention to detail, time management and ability to multi-task are a high priority. Strong communications skills are expected, to include: excellent writing, speaking, analytical, organizational and customer service. The Security Education, Training & Awareness (SETA) team member will support the Security and Program Management in developing, executing and maintaining a SETA program to adequately train and educate the program engineering and support staff on the security requirements necessary to protect critical National Security Information in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 5205.07 series, and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Development, Oversight, and implementation of security education requirements for program briefed personnel, using the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 5205.07 series, the ICD705, and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) guidance. Conduct trainings, briefings, and develop education materials. Be able to conduct root cause analysis of security deficiencies and develop appropriate training resources. Coordinate with program personnel to understand the education and training needs of each department/function and develop appropriate resources. Develop, prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures and addendums, Operations Security (OPSEC) Plans, participate in security Self-Inspections and/or Government inspections, to include being able to compare procedures with actual operations, document findings and recommend corrective actions. Processing assured file transfers requests. Provide security guidance regarding program operations. Participate in a team environment to develop, update, and implement security policies and procedures in coordination with the company policies and government regulations.

Required Skills:

  • US Citizenship

  • Existing TS and SSBI/PR within 6 years

  • Refined teaming skills and understanding of team concepts

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Self-starter with minimal supervision

  • Attention to detail and follow-through when completing tasks

  • Ability to plan, schedule, and arrange activities in accomplishing objectives

  • Experience with all Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Willing to work extended hours, in a fast paced, deadline driven environment

  • Willing to travel on company business

  • Ability to display tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with all employees

  • Good interpersonal skills and a professional image

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all accesses as required by the programs.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working in Special Program Environments and understanding of government guidance

  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM and DODM 5205.07 Vol. 1-4

  • Security related certification and training courses

  • Working knowledge of Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG)

  • Proficiency in developing and delivering training materials and presentations

Education and Experience needed:

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years directly related working experience

Security Clearance: This position requires the successful issuance, transfer or maintenance of a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
