Raytheon Technologies Jr. System Administrator in Dallas, Texas

This is a temporary position of undetermined length.

Raytheon currently has an exciting IT position available that supports the Raytheon mission of making the world a safer place. We are seeking a System Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The System Administrator must have the ability to obtain a secret security clearance as they will be responsible for administering systems that contain classified data. The candidate is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows infrastructure for both the classified and unclassified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, desktop and workstation installation and configuration; hard disk cloning and imaging via Ghost, MDT, and other tools; hardware relocation; user accounts management; software installation and support; data backup and restoration and file and folder access management. Assist in building, deploying, and asset management of desktop workstations, laptops, servers throughout the organization.

Job Duties:

  • Building and configuring workstations

  • Coordinate and prepare equipment transfers

  • Perform build lab duties and upkeep

  • Software installation and support

  • Account management

    Required Skills:

  • Experience with hardware and software support, troubleshooting, system imaging, hardware break-fix support (i.e. laptops, desktops, etc.), refresh, upgrade and deployment projects

  • Understanding of Antivirus and basic security hardening

  • Demonstrated experience supporting recent versions of Microsoft Office

  • Must be detail oriented and able to effectively document and communicate details.

  • Ability to excel in a change controlled environment.

  • Ability to follow Asset Management processes and procedures

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds

  • Position may require some travel

  • Position requires to be on-site

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

  • Ability to satisfy Department of Defense Directive (DoD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and a supported Operating System Certification) within 6 months of hire date

    Desired Skills:

  • An active DoD Top Secret clearance adjudicated within the past 6 years

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification)

  • Basic DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory experience

  • Familiar with backups, principles, and safeguards

  • Familiar with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, and/or DoD/RMF

  • Familiar in Jira, MDT, Kickstart, and Ansible

  • Familiar with disk cloning software

  • Basic knowledge of virtual computing technologies

  • Troubleshooting basic workstation and server issues

  • Ability to train others in standard IT processes and procedures

  • Basic Windows scripting

  • Self-Starter, customer focused, adaptable, attention to detail, time management skills, ability to multitask, ability to work with general supervision and follow established procedures

  • Broad understanding of infrastructure technologies

  • Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.

  • CompTIA A

    • Basic knowledge of Agile concepts and methodologies

    Required Education:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of work or military experience
