Raytheon Technologies Mgr III Systems Engineering in Dallas, Texas

Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S), Systems Engineering Department, has an immediate opportunity for a Section Manager - Mgr III Systems Engineering position. This position is in the Texas based Trusted Mission Processing (TMP) Product line.

RI&S is seeking a System Engineering Section Manager (SM) who is a dynamic and innovative communications leader, with proven and recognized leadership experience in multiple domains. The major role for this position is to lead and improve the strength of the System Engineering personnel resources in development of advanced airborne processors capable products and systems.

This position is for someone with proven leadership skills, to be the System Engineering Section Manager within the TMP Product Line within the Communications and Information Systems (CAMS) Mission Area. This person will lead the TMP Systems Engineering Team. The Section Manager will collaborate with CAMS TMP Engineering Fellows, Program Managers, and Chief Engineers to provide system engineering discipline and guidance on TMP existing and emerging products.

The Section Manager will lead, cultivate, and grow the TMP System Engineering personnel. The SM will provide qualified staffing support to TMP programs and proposals. The SM will also support the TMP Technical Director and Leadership Team in the creation of technical strategies and product roadmaps within the TMP Product Line.

This position requires strong initiative, communication, and collaboration with TMP Integrated Product Team leaders and personnel from several functional disciplines. The job will also require the candidate to know or learn the F-16 MMC Subsystem and understand its physical configuration, functions, and performance under the aircraft non-operational and operational profiles experienced over the system life-cycle.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 10 years related experience in Systems Engineering including system design, requirements development, integration and test, and verification and qualification of products and/or systems

  • Must be able to work within a structured Systems Engineering process environment including a task oriented, value based management system

  • Domain experience in hardware/software integration, communications systems information assurance, user experience, and new technology insertion

  • Prior leadership experience and communication skills for engagement with program management, technical team members and customers and/or subcontractors

  • Experience leading teams of technical experts and engineers coupled with technical problem solving, system architecture development, and IA/AT implementation

  • Working experience with Earned Value Management

  • Working experience with Risk and Opportunity management

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as well as DoD Secret U.S. Security Clearance day one of employment; position will require the ability to access US only data systems

    Desired Skills

  • Multiple years of experience with military secure processors design and development

  • Experience in proposal development, particularly Engineering Change Proposal and Basis of Estimate development, and other contract deliverable artifacts

  • Relevant experience leading and performing environmental testing on DoD products in a lab setting using shock stands, shakers, & thermal chambers

  • Prior experience working in engineering and environmental laboratories equipped with E3 test equipment & RF-shielded anechoic chambers

  • Familiarity with FAA and/or USAF Aircraft Qualification and Safety of Flight Certification Process and associated verification/supporting data and reporting requirements

  • Proven ability to lead or help teams to resolve technical problems

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills

    Required Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited educational institution (i.e. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics)

  • Master of Science degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited educational institution (i.e. Engineering, Physics, Mathematics)
