Raytheon Technologies Principal Electrical Engineer - Signal Integrity Engineer in Dallas, Texas
This candidate will join the Signal/Power Integrity Team in North Texas and perform Signal and Power Integrity studies and analyses across multiple geographical regions within RIS and Raytheon Technologies at large. The candidate is expected to quickly become familiar with the designs and assist the designers in making decisions that will ensure that all of the Signal Integrity (SI) and / or Power Integrity (PI) criteria are being met. In this role, the candidate will perform analyses at component (chip) level, module (card) level, unit (box level), and system level (including interconnect). Typical tasks may include Pre and Post ECAD route analysis for CCA designs, collaborating with CCA Product Design Engineers on board stack-ups, creating routing documents for CCA designs, using electromagnetic field solvers to create electrical models for high-speed communication interconnects such as connectors, flex circuits, cables, and via structures, running end-to-end simulations for signals from 1Kbps serial up to 28Gbps data rates and beyond, and performing power integrity analyses on CCA designs using PI tools. The goal of the team is to ensure first pass success on all designs.
Candidate will also support programs in root cause fault investigations of production and latent failures on existing fielded products. The candidate will be expected to quickly diagnose problems and recommend timely and cost-effective solutions for problem mitigation. The candidate should have experience using Time Domain Reflectometry oscilloscopes, Vector Network Analyzers, and Digital Signal Oscilloscopes.

Minimum 8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering
Ability to effectively use the Mentor Hyperlynx Signal Integrity Tool Suite.
Experience with Ansys Signal and Power Integrity Tool Suite
Experience with Polar Speedstack tool
Experience with 30Gbps+ SERDES communication networks
Experience with DDR4 memory interfaces
Ability to use Mentor SI/PI Tool Suite, HSPICE, IBIS, Simbeor, Cadence Allegro SI/PI Tool Suite, and other related SI tools.
Familiarity with the physics of High-Speed Serial I/O signaling
Familiarity with PWB fabrication and CCA manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with measurement techniques using Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) oscilloscopes, Vector Network Analyzers, Digital Signal Oscilloscopes.
Background in both Digital and RF electrical design
Ability to work independently and manage conflicting priorities on multiple tasks.
Willingness to learn the nature of the defense industry with long-life products and apply appropriate judgement to each task.
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
BS and 8 years of experience, MS and 4 years of experience, PhD and 2 years of experience.
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
