Raytheon designs, develops, produces and supports a vast array of electro-optical/infrared sensors, active electronically scanned array/scanning radars, and various integrated systems solutions to provide customers with actionable information for strike, persistent surveillance, and special mission applications. This position supports the Trusted Mission Processing (TMP) product area within the Communications and Air Management Systems (CAMS) segment of Raytheon. TMP provides secured processing platforms and capabilities to both domestic and international customers. This specific position will provide software architecture leadership and support to new and existing programs within the mission area. The successful candidate will have a proven track record developing and augmenting software architectures that meet technical requirements of the product while balancing system level concerns as well as program cost and schedule constraints. The candidate will support product area proposal efforts by developing concept architectures, support the development of detailed architecture development for new programs, extend existing software architectures to meet new program requirements and will oversee the application and instantiation of architectures into the software design. The successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate architecture approach, constraints, and rationale to varied audiences including multiple levels of management and to the customer . Candidate must also be able to guide the successful implementation of that architecture.
Minimum of 10 years real time embedded software development experience
Prior experience as a Software Architect for real time embedded system
Strong understanding of architecture design principles and governance
Ability to create an architectural vision and successfully lead a team in its implementation
Strong written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to decompose, document, and communicate architecture rationale, approach, design and governance
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with and communicate the customer, all levels of management and with individual contributors on the program team.
Ability to work across disciplines to find balanced approaches to technical issues
Existing DoD secret clearance with ability to obtain required program SAR clearance (Desired: Last clearance investigation should be 6 years or less)
Prior experience architecting, designing, developing and testing airborne mission application, infrastructure and test software for a product line of software products
Prior experience developing requirements, defining system interfaces, and supporting system level integration
Prior experience porting existing software to new platforms and architectures
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
Experience with Software architecture tools and techniques
Experience with a variety of messaging and communication protocols
Experience with different processor architectures including Intel, PowerPC, ARM
Experience with Green Hills, VxWorks, or Linux operating systems on multi-core processors
Experience with Open Software standards such as FACE and OMS
Cyber, AT, and Security related software experience
Possess an understanding of Digital Engineering principles including Model Based System Engineering and DevOps/DevSecOps pipelines
Experience with Agile Development Methodologies
Minimum Bachelor’s of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
