Raytheon Technologies Principal Applications Developer in Dulles, Virginia


This is a unique position for a strong Applications Developer to work on a high-profile suite of services that will supply users with productionized data analytics to assist the wide range of Information Management mission activities. The candidate will work with a team of software developers and data scientists to refine the baseline of analytic tools and build out new tools on a routinized production cadence to meet the evolving needs of users. The candidate must have the ability to communicate with project team members, user community, and leadership to assess changes and demonstrate iterative progress.

This position is located in Dulles.

Mandatory Skills

  • Experience with in web services using Java, Spring Boot

  • Experience with DevOps or other system automation techniques

  • Experience using relational database, such as MySQL, Oracle, Postgres

  • Experience as a full stack developer, particularly with a focus on restful web services and middle-tier development

  • Self-starter with ability to work cohesively with others as well as independently (MUST leave ego at the door)

  • Ability to work well in a constantly evolving work environment

  • Eight years of related experience and BS/BA in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar OR equivalent combination of education and experience

Optional Skills

  • Experience working in Linux

  • Experience developing user interfaces using technologies such as Angular 2

    • Experience with development and deployment of applications in the Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) environment or an Amazon Web Services cloud environment
  • Experience developing in platforms with Solr or Elastic Search

  • Experience developing web-based applications in sponsor’s environment (such as FidOS or CLSE)
