Pratt & Whitney (PW), a Raytheon Technologies Company, is looking for a business systems manager to join our Digital Technology (DT) Digital manufacturing team. This individual will be involved in the delivery of designing, developing, enhancing, and implementing software solutions within Pratt & Whitney’s enterprise Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solution, and the integrations with Statistical Process Control (SPC) solutions across the Operations enterprise. This role will help define the SPC product integration for all of PW as an SPC product owner (ProLink) and support the troubleshooting of problems related to software applications; resolving systems integration and compatibility issues, supporting software testing, including the development/creation of test scripts. The position is eligible for a remote working environment, while supporting business across the globe. Up to 10% domestic/international travel may be required. Due to customer locations in different time zones, customer meetings can occur outside normal business work hours.

The DT Manufacturing team at PW is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter who will be excited in delivering digital solutions within our Manufacturing enterprise platform as it relates to supporting our manufacturing sites and engine centers worldwide. Current strategic activities include supporting the strategic roadmap for MES & SPC and integrating with PW’s digital thread, inclusive of new technologies for IIOT and Industry 4.0.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Bridging gaps between business processes and manufacturing solutions

  • Translating customer requirements into a solution design

  • Technical and functional problem solving

  • Project Management with strong follow up discipline

  • Meeting all budget, quality and schedule targets

  • Production and end user support for our applications

  • Supporting integration with Pratt & Whitney’s enterprise solutions (ProLink, SAP, Solumina, Apriso, Team Center)

  • Working with internal customers and external suppliers, business partners, to architect and build system solutions for using the latest technologies to satisfy requirements

  • Managing suppliers and partners to schedule and status resources required for solution development and implementation

  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously with regular reporting in a gated process

  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Author system functional requirements, technical design documentation and test plans

  • Work with business teams to plan and implement projects

  • Technical skills in the areas of understanding/interpreting JAVA programming language

  • Technical skills in the area of SQL products (Oracle)

  • Ensuring compliance with UTC / PW policies & procedures

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-4+ years’ experience in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering or related field.

  • BS degree required; Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering, or related degree.

  • US Citizen due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience with MES and SPC (overall manufacturing systems)

  • Knowledge of other manufacturing solutions is a plus, but not required (ProLink, Solumina, Apriso, Ortems, Ignition)

  • Prior experience in software development (.NET, SQL, Python, etc…) is a plus, although development is not a primary responsibility

  • Team player with strong follow up skills and ability to craft positive relationships

  • Detail oriented, analytical and able to trace problems

  • Strong communication skills

  • Relishes orchestrating and organizing initiatives and processes

  • Excellent judgment and professional business maturity

  • Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office

  • Self-starter with the ability to spot potential for process improvement
