Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world’s most advanced commercial and military turbine engines, is seeking talented engineers to join our organization within Pratt & Whitney’s Project Engineering discipline.
The candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team, execute engineering standard work, and drive tasks to meet program milestones. This is a unique opportunity for an emerging professional to work on the best engines in the world.
The Military Business Lead in the Global Services Engineering (GSE) organization will work closely with the GSE Repair Development team and various military engine program offices using the Earned Value Management System (EVMS). The EVMS integrates the planning, scheduling, budgeting, work authorization, and cost accumulation systems. With this information, management can assess program status, evaluate performance, analyze problems, and implement corrective action in a timely manner.
This position will either be hybrid or fully remote in East Hartford, CT.
Primary point-of-contact for all internal and external customers on program business or financial issues.
Understand and adhere to Earned Value Management System (EVMS) guidelines.
Tracks schedule/budget performance against baseline under his/her responsibility.
Assures military GSE meets financial short, medium, and long-term metrics, objectives, and goals of assigned repairs program.
Manages annual manpower (OMM) loading and monthly manpower status for assigned program(s), working with the GSE Resource Manager.
Prepare GSE Repair Development statement of work (SOW) for input to military contract proposals – Working with BACE Proposal Estimating Team.
Develops inputs to properly baseline GSE Repair Development statement of work (SOW) for approved military contract.
Completes monthly status inputs to ensure the accuracy and validity of schedule/budget performance and Estimate at Complete (EAC).
Ensure accurate and on-time delivery of monthly business rhythm deliverables.
Documents and records delays, changes in scope, and any other issues/risks that may arise and impact the scope of work, schedule or budget.
Present work scope changes at Monthly EAC/Risk Reviews.
Generate top driver variances explanations monthly.
Supports monthly internal repair delivery review meetings.
Supports definition and management of aggregate deliverables for assigned programs.
Maintain task waterlines for assigned programs.
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2+ years’ of prior relevant experience.
US Citizenship due to government projects.
Desire to work with both internal and external stakeholders in a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, teamwork, adaptability and focus on results.
Knowledge of business analysis and tools.
Working knowledge of EVMS and Program/Project management - Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience.
Experience with P&W’s EV toolset including SAP, Primavera, Dassian and eCSVar a plus.
Experience with Microsoft Office suite; primarily Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
