We are seeking a highly motivated, technically talented individual, who has a true desire to lead and coach in a dynamic operations environment to support our Hollow Fan Blade Business unit in our Compression Systems Module Center (CSMC) as a 1st Shift Cell Leader.

  • In this role you will be proving direction to skilled HFB, CSMC bargaining unit employees, leading employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts/

  • Additionally you will lead sustained improvements in safety, quality, production, material procurement, and cost reduction through the systems’ various elements. In conjunction to daily supervisor responsibilities, project management, effective communication and execution with support group members is critical to the department’s success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Driving the organization multi-functionally to meet customer requirements for quality, cost, and delivery; work with functional leaders, and internal staff to meet production requirements and assure the cells operate in a productive fashion consistent with changing business needs.

  • You will handle all operational aspects of the Hollow Fan Blades Business Unit together with the Business Unit Manager

  • Drive overall production to meet goals, coordinating with Materials, Quality, Engineering day to day activities

  • Lead the establishment and attainment of cell goals in quality, cost, schedule, compliance and safety and continuous improvement objectives

  • You will be an independent personality who will make multi-functional decisions

  • You'll provide effective communication across the cells, and provide leadership development and performance feedback to the shop floor employees

  • Obtain the necessary resources (equipment, manpower, etc.) effectively to meet long range and near-term goals

  • Review staffing and training needed including performance, salary, and career appraisals for assigned personnel as well as hiring, retaining and developing new key technical talent

  • Maintain a constant understanding of the status of Production work, to ensure resources are correctly allocated

  • You will also provide mentorship and direction to close gaps multi-functionally

  • You'll lead productivity projects to reduce cost and cycle time

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of operations experience in a shop environment

  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clear, concise and effective communicator

  • Experience working with all levels of management and experience in a union environment

  • Highly self-directed, quick learner, strong drive and results driven

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement principles (lean manufacturing, ACE, QCPC, etc.)

  • Consistent track record in team leadership roles

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Previous supervisory experience

  • Exposure to a union environment managing to contractual requirements

  • Experience working with SAP
