PW100: East Hartford 400 Main Street, East Hartford, CT, 06118 USA P&W is the leader in 5th Gen military engines and provides the engines that power the F-22 and F-35 fighter aircraft. Support for these engines starts in the lab as engineers and scientists work to characterize and understand the materials that survive in the hostile environment that exists in a jet engine. The Low Observable Material Characterization engineer will provide support to the development of advanced materials for current and future propulsion systems. In this role, the Low Observable Material Characterization engineer will participate on, and often lead, multifunctional teams to define, understand and characterize the performance of signature critical materials and equipment. In addition, the engineer will work with government customer and hardware teammates to develop new tools and processes to drive improvements for the supportability and manufacturability of fielded and future propulsion systems. Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, physics or material science degree with
3 years of experience dealing with electromagnetic or electrically performing materials or 1 years of experience with Master’s degree
Experience performing measurements with radio frequency, microwave, and infrared equipment.
Proficiency developing and using scripts with MATLAB
Effective Communication Skills (verbal/written); able to work effectively on teams.
