Key Responsibilities:Supervisory responsibilities of a small workforce of highly engaged and experienced hourly inspectors. Candidate must have the ability to comprehend technical information associated with industrial gas turbine investment castings and a strong desire to quickly learn the basic principles of the application of a quality management system. As the candidate’s knowledge base and technical development advances, general responsibilities will include:

  • Provide daily job assignments to the inspection workforce

  • Maintain time clocking and overtime records as well as ensure training requirements are satisfied

  • Provide technical support to the inspection and manufacturing communities

  • Maintain the quality management system of the investment casting facility

  • Work with engineering to introduce new processes and parts into development and ready for production

  • Work with NDT inspectors to maintain and optimize existing processes and develop and implement improved processes

  • Construct and perform quality presentations to a technical community.

  • Use continuous improvement tools as well as the principles of lean manufacturing to investigate non-compliance issues and quality escapes. Perform root cause analysis, identifying and implement robust corrective

  • Perform and follow-up on internal and external quality audits

  • Collaborate with Core QA personnel to ensure product delivery and to ensure systems are compliant to AS9100 Certification and East Hartford Production Certificate

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in related field, preferably engineering

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a quality role performing quality engineering functions. Supervisory experience a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong familiarity with inspection tooling and techniques,

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a group setting and interface directly with shop floor management

  • Knowledge / experience with quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001.

  • Ability to prioritize workload in a high pressure environment and multitask as required

  • Knowledge / experience with quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001

  • ASQ -CQE certification a plus
