The GTF (Gear Turbofan) Aftermarket Operations team is seeking a Senior Manager to support the engineering efforts behind the PW1000G global network of engine overhaul shops (U.S., Germany, Japan, Singapore, Poland).

In addition to the overhaul shops’ engineering and operations community, the position will work closely with a broad set of organizations including the Operations industrial readiness team, all Aftermarket support and services organizations, Engineering (CIPTs), and production build and test sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead through strategic influence and/or direct management of teams and initiatives that accelerate knowledge transfer across the OEM/MRO enterprise, also leadership of special initiatives focused on MRO Network output continuous improvement and productivity in assembly/disassembly/inspection/test processes.

  • This may include contribution, coordination, and leadership in the following areas:

  • The “All Shops” process – how are we gathering, analyzing, and communicating lessons learned, conducting and sharing root cause analysis? Focusing on efforts to improve the rate at which the network shops learn and best practices can be implemented for maximum effect on network output.

  • The OEM/MRO communication links – create and maintain meaningful connections with OEM sites that perform similar functions. What is the process for transferring that learning to the MRO Network, more specifically to shops outside direct PW control?

  • Special initiatives as determined by MRO Network priorities – how does shop disassembly / assembly performance and methods across the network influence Turnaround Time, Labor Hours, Quality (First Pass Yield)? Where are the highest assembly impact challenges occurring and what are action plans to improve outcomes?

  • Establish and improve workflow between the AMOE team and engineering groups that participate in aftermarket assembly/disassembly/test issue resolution process like CAIPTs, CTS, SEO, and Tech Pubs.

  • Business process improvements/advancements with respect to “MRO First” configuration change strategies including AMOE role in industrial readiness and the PCIR / SB release processes

  • Enterprise transition from legacy PWC PWSTACK system to PWA Fleetcare PWSTACK including establishing PWA governing councils

  • Establish AMOE work procedures, similar to ESW, for both the DAT onboarding and change management scenarios, including coordination with other groups as appropriate

  • This position may include direct management of individuals with a highly technical background.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering required; advanced engineering or business degree a plus.

  • MS Engineering or MBA a plus

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience working in an assembly or test environment with engineering or operational leadership responsibility. Must include experience on complex projects and initiatives supported by a matrixed organization.

  • At least 5 years of experience in senior leadership communication forums including Engineering, Operations, and/or Program management

  • At least 5 years of people management experience

  • US Citizenship is required due to government contracts.

  • Ability to travel is required domestically and internationally up to 10%. Must have or be willing to obtain a valid US Passport.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience working in aerospace: MRO overhaul and repair, development or production assembly of turbine engines.

  • 3+ years of engineering management experience

  • GTF Engine assembly experience

  • Candidate presently has a valid US Passport
