Pratt & Whitney Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems. CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including: requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design, and product software design, verification & validation. We integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design integration with control system, control components, engine system and aircraft systems.

  • Lead system issue troubleshooting and resolution.

  • Support design reviews.

  • Identify and prioritize customer-driven and engineering requirements.

  • Definition and analysis of systems requirements allocated to hardware and software, traceability, documentation, change control.

  • Active involvement in control system and software verification and validation including customer integration and compliance flight test.

  • Project management of integrated product development team milestones.

  • Identify, assess and communication system-level functional risks, and develop mitigation plans and execute burndowns of those risks.

  • Coordination of root cause investigation efforts.

  • Organization and configuration tracking of hardware and software versions.

  • Integration and troubleshooting of performance, starting, transient response and other complex systems within the control system as well as requirements.

  • Management and control laws validation related to those systems.

  • Successfully demonstrated analytical skills to solve complex logistics, configuration, control, diagnostic and/or software system problems.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.

  • Desire for continuous learning and innovation.

    Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Engineering with 7+ years of related work experience or an Advanced Degree in Engineering with 5+ years related work experience.

  • U.S. Citizens due to program requirements.

  • Active security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Requires expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

  • Requires substantial knowledge of UTC projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job are.

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5+ years relevant work experience.
