The Pratt & Whitney Hot Section Module Center Manufacturing Engineering Organization is seeking a highly motivated individual to support Hot Section Module Center South’s manufacturing engineering organization
The Manufacturing Engineer's responsibilities include:
Represent manufacturing during Engineering Change proposals and promote best practices in regard to design for manufacturability.
Organize and Lead Manufacturing MRL assessments for significant design and/or process changes
Manage New Product Development through the shop and supplier base
Drive quality improvement and cost savings projects
Help create and maintain shop floor work instructions (including specifications, engineering changes, QAD/process control, and tooling definition/requirements.)
Provide focused & effective leadership in eliminating EH&S/Ergonomics/Human Factors risks and addressing quality issues.
Identify & implement shop floor process optimization & control methods to eliminate/prevent QCPC turn backs /escapes and reduce overall assembly costs.
Participate in CORE/ lean manufacturing initiatives
*Education / Certifications
• A Bachelor's degree in engineering required w/4–7+ years experience;
• A Master’s degree in engineering preferred w/2–5+ years experience
A minimum of 4 years of manufacturing engineering experience is required. Turbine airfoil processing knowledge are a strong plus for this position.- Excellent communication/presentation skills.- Strong project engineering/planning skills.- Statistical process control skills (Six-sigma training)
