Job Summary:

The Systems Integration & Test Directorate has a position available in for the Weapons & Platforms Center (W&PC).This work will include duties as an Electronic/Flight Test Engineer located at Eglin AFB, Ft Walton Beach, FL. This Flight Test Engineer position will be primarily involved with the AMRAAM® missile that is a multi-platform, multi-service weapon, reporting to the IVC Field/Test Support Section Head and Department Manager. You must be able to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. The work is performed under general direction and you must be able to independently determine and develop solutions. This is a demanding, hands-on, flight line support position. You may be required to work non-standard and extended hours under potentially extreme conditions.

U.S. Citizenship status is required, as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment

Responsibilities to Anticipate

  • Flight test planning, execution, and data review.

  • Missile build and testing, flight line missile preparation and testing.

  • Extensive use of COMSEC equipment, AIS computers, and telemetry equipment

  • Maintaining and reconfiguring munitions, monitoring weapon telemetry in a control room environment performing flight line operations and communicating directly to customers on a daily basis.

    Qualifications you must have:

  • BS in Engineering (Preferred Majors: Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Software, Physics or Systems)

  • A minimum of 10 years related professional experience in flight test planning, execution and data review

  • Experience with flight test of weapons systems

  • Experience using telemetry software and associated hardware

  • Experience with Windows based PCs, software and peripheral hardware

  • Experience troubleshooting varied electronic equipment

  • Experience with Communications Security (COMSEC) equipment

    Qualifications We Value:

  • Strong communications skills both verbal and written

  • Engineering leadership experience with a team and/or project

  • Strong customer relationship experience

  • Experience interpreting requirements and translating knowledge points into test plans and procedures

  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553 and MIL-STD-1760 interfaces

  • Experienced in Failure Review, Failure Investigation and Root Cause and Correction Action Boards.

  • Travel to domestic and possible foreign sites

  • Must be willing to relocate
