The Systems Engineering Center (SEC) is seeking a Bus Systems Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for the Space Systems (SS) Mission Area. The Bus Systems IPTL will lead a team of Space Vehicle Subsystems engineers for a high-powered, Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite mission, for which Raytheon is the prime contractor. The satellite bus will be designed, manufactured and delivered by an industry partner. This position will lead a team that will focus on the systems engineering and oversight management functions and less on performing detailed hardware design. The successful candidate should also expect to be immersed in a fast-paced and team-based environment where an individual with talent and initiative will standout and thrive.
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus up to $15,000
Primary Responsibilities :
Oversee execution of the development of the Bus Systems IPT work products to ensure all products meet Raytheon standards and are delivered in accordance with the program plan.
Be responsible for the planning, coordination, and communication of the cross-functional team responsible for delivering subsystems, products and services.
Ensure the assigned team’s objectives are achieved on schedule, and consistent with quality and technical standards.
Lead a team of Subsystems engineers at Space Vehicle-level, working with the bus supplier to establish the architecture and meet all interfaces and mission requirements. This includes leading bus flight software; Structures, Mechanisms, Thermal and Propulsion (SMTP); Tracking, Telemetry & Command (TT&C); Attitude Determination & Control Systems (ADCS); and Command and Data Handling (C&DH); and, Bus Electrical Power Subsystems (EPS).
Supervise the subsystem engineers working with the bus supplier in the detailed design, manufacturing, assembly, verification and operation of the various subsystems (travel to the bus supplier site will be required). Ensure the subsystem engineers are engaged with the bus supplier and their subcontractors to deliver vehicle subsystems that meet mission requirements and customer expectations.
Provide management oversight of SV-level analysis and trade studies of the various subsystems
Provide management oversight of requirements decomposition and flow-down from top-level customer documents through subsystem-level definition.
Foster culture in-line with high performance and cohesive teams necessary to meet the technical, schedule and cost challenges.
Perform administrative systems engineering functions, including requirements management in DOORs, mapping of CDRLs and SDRLs, and Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) in Cameo.
Manage technical, cost and schedule deliverables for the Integrated Product Team.
Identify critical staffing resources and update staffing plans to provide adequate staffing to support all SEIT tasks
Prepare and present design reviews for internal and external participants.
Active Top Secret clearance
Ability to obtain SAP/SAR access
Minimum 10 years of experience in space systems engineering, with at least 3 years of demonstrated engineering leadership experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in Space Vehicle Subsystems engineering
Knowledge of all Space Vehicle subsystems with technical expertise in at least 2-3 of the following areas: bus flight software, SMTP, TT&C, ADCS, C&DH and, Bus EPS.
Demonstrated experience in Space-Based product Development activities including: requirements development, allocation, verification and analysis; interface definition; CONOPS development; hardware and software design and development; and system level integration, validation and verification
Proven ability to supervise a supplier with independent Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Software, Controls and IV&V teams
Experience in the testing and validation of satellite EPS systems and hardware
Experience in preparing and delivering briefings to management and customers
Capable of effectively leading in a team environment, often under tight deadlines
M.S. in Electrical Engineering
Power system Modeling and Simulation experience in Matlab, STK or other modeling tool
Experience developing and/or operation ground gateway stations
Experience designing power systems for large-scale satellite constellations
Experience developing and implementing SysML models using Rhapsody or Cameo
Experience working with government customers and requirements
Excellent oral presentation skills and comfort with customer interaction.
Experience in cost account management concepts, including Earned Value
BS in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related STEM discipline
MS in Electrical Engineering

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $120,500.00 to $241,500.00; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
