The Industrial Systems Engineer (ISE) drives business and process improvements across multiple manufacturing and transactional areas by designing, improving, and implementing integrated systems of people, materials, and equipment.
Industrial Systems Engineers are involved in all phases of the factory life cycle, including Bids and Proposals, Capacity Planning, Labor Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Design, Simulation and Process Modeling, Labor Performance Analysis, Process Mapping, and Project Management.
The ISE leads initiatives which incorporate best practices and eliminate process variation, waste, while enabling increase in capacity, lead-time reduction, improved process flow and gains in efficiencies.
This position will support the manufacturing design of a broad range of world class space payloads and electronics, as well as high performance airborne sensors. In this role, close cross-collaboration with multiple functions and systems thinking will be critical.
The ISE in this role will have exposure to other Raytheon Intelligence & Space factories across the US. Additionally, the individual will be working closely with the Raytheon Intelligence & Space factory Automation Team on Industry 4.0 initiatives, as well as the factory leadership, Manufacturing Engineering, and program teams to create, maintain, and optimize world class space and airborne manufacturing processes.
Typical duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Drive factory improvement project priorities using analytical tools
Coordinate factory capability needs for yield improvements and new technology
Identify and eliminate system constraints and lead continuous improvement projects
Assemble, lead, and motivate effective teams
Lead factory development through project justification, return on investment analysis (ROI), and design and implementation
Manage cost and schedule performance for large scale projects
Ensures Human Factors Engineering disciplines are utilized in production configuration
Apply Six Sigma and Lean Principles and tools including value stream maps, line balancing, and error proofing
Builds and maintains capacity models (equipment and labor) and makes recommendations based on the model outputs
Mentor team members in the field of Industrial Engineering and Lean Manufacturing
Support the 5-Year Strategic Roadmap
Support bids, proposals, and Make/Buy/Where analysis
Minimum 8 years of direct manufacturing floor experience in Industrial Engineering, Continuous Improvement
Experience working in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (e.g. SAP)
Demonstrated ability to actively manage more than one project at a time
Strong understanding of discrete event model
Self-motivated change agent, with a bias for action and a sense of urgency; demonstrates accountability by holding self and others accountable to the team charter
Experience applying Lean Manufacturing Principles (Process Improvement and methods optimization)
Strong business acumen with ability to make sound business decisions and present cost benefits for projects
Capable of managing the implementation of Business-level projects across multiple factories
Strong oral and written communication skills

Knowledge in Visiprise Manufacturing (VM) / Common Manufacturing Execution System (CMES)
Experience with Simulation Modeling, Constraint Analysis
Experience with factory design and work cell optimization
Experience working in a circuit card assembly (CCA) manufacturing facility
Experience with digital manufacturing tools and techniques (Process Simulate, Timer Pro, NX, or equivalent)
Experience with AutoDesk software
Six Sigma certification, Six Sigma Black Belt, Shingo Certification, or equivalent
Transitioning development products to a production environment
Earned Value Management (EVM) Certification
Experience with supporting Digital Transformation initiatives
Experience deploying automation and robotics systems in a high mix production environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Systems or Engineering Management Systems Engineering, and related Engineering /Technical degrees
Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or Engineering Management System, Engineering Management and related Engineering /Technical degrees
