The highly qualified candidate should possess career experience in technology development and demonstrate technical knowledge in radar algorithm/mode techniques. At Raytheon Technologies, our Systems Engineer leaders are given the authority and responsibility to assure we deliver on commitments. This role will influence the technical performance of all Systems Engineering activities and will assume the responsibility of all engineering decisions affecting system development, integration, verification, and work product delivery while ensuring the product meets all technical specifications, operational requirements and customer expectations. Responsibilities include:

• Technology development vision and construct of plans to achieve goals

• Ensuring systems engineering (SE) technical integrity

• Creation of system engineer (SE) work products and associated analyses that document the system designs

• Generation and review/approval of all technical Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs)

• Providing technical direction to the teams and support of the professional development of team members while ensuring senior technical personnel "pass on" knowledge to junior personnel

• Development of mathematical algorithms for signal processing

• Performance predictions and analysis of data received from sensors on various platforms

• Technical and programmatic presentations to both internal and external customers

• Technical team leadership participating in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, and flight test activities

• Design reviews, gate reviews, trade studies and other program/customer reviews as required to keep the team on track

• Day to day direction for all engineering teams in the development and implementation of the team’s scope of work

• Support new/follow-on business proposals and Rough Order of Magnitude Estimate (ROMs) as required by the program

• Development feedback and information to functional organizations

• Interface with the Chief Engineer, Lead Systems Engineer, Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTLs), and other team members on a regular basis

Clearance Requirements:

An active and in-scope Secret U.S. security clearance

Required Skills:

• Extensive engineering experience

• Demonstrated understanding of airborne radar systems and their principals of design, development, requirements, I&T, Operation, and/or Flight Test

• Excellent mathematical problem solving ability and data analysis experience

• Experienced with engineering analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python)

• Experienced with collaboration resources (e.g., Git, Jira, Confluence)

• Thorough Microsoft office skills (Office, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Ability to work independently and determine/develop approaches to solutions

• Experience in preparing and delivering briefings to internal and external stakeholders

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with program leadership

Desired Skills

• Experience leading technical teams in advanced radar development efforts

• Design development program using Agile Framework methodology

• Skilled at anticipating problems and planning to mitigate them

• Experience establishing and maintaining a technical baseline, and leading proactive change control of that baseline

• Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills, experience interfacing with senior customer technical representatives and company executive leadership

• History of influencing non-engineering functions to improve the overall success of the program

• Experience with software modes and data collection methodologies with the corresponding phenomenology artifacts

• Capability to influence technology development

• Experience writing tech volumes, bidding, and/or generating basis of estimate documentation

• Experience writing white papers and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs)

• Experience with one of the following areas related to radar systems: search or track, surveillance, reconnaissance, electronic protection, ID, or adaptive techniques

• Experience mentoring engineer Radar Systems

Required Education:

8 years' of relevant experience and a BS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM); or 6 years' of relevant experience with a MS in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
