#Guiding the mission
The Resilient Navigation Systems Engineering Department requires a Section Manager to help lead the Engineering organization. The Systems Engineering Department is the foundational engineering organization responsible for program execution and future growth in the Resilient Navigation and Reconnaissance business area.
The Systems Engineering Center’s Resilient Navigation Department has an immediate opportunity for a Section Manager for the GPS and Navigation (GNS) Programs. The Section Manager performs direct line management activities and provides leadership for approximately 10 systems engineers with expertise in GPS and GPS aided navigation systems, including analysis, architecture, requirements and design. The Section Manager is responsible for the adherence to System’s Engineering’s best practices. Three quarters of the Section Manager's time will be devoted to direct work on programs, as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), individual contributor, technical reviewer, or other as needed role.
The Section Manager needs to be an effective communicator, leader, and decision maker, and a strong advocate for process improvement, diversity in the work force, and high professional standards. Additionally, the Section Manager must support the Department Manager in bidding new GNS pursuits.
