The California Consolidated Manufacturing Center (CA CMC) is seeking a strong, technically sound Operations leader for the role of Test Director who is committed and passionate about creating innovative, cost-effective solutions for the overall assembly, integration and test of the payload. The successful candidate will serve as the AI&T Operations Test Director on a large-scale, and very complex Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Communications (ISRC) Space Development Program.
The successful candidate will work with the Chief Engineer and the SEIT lead, to drive all AI&T execution activities on the program.
Responsibilities include leading a team through the testing and integration of Space payload system from low level Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) and module test to a fully integrated system of hardware, software and firmware subsystems and components.
The successful candidate will interface with cross-functional product teams, program management, and functional managers as well as finance, engineering, supply chain, contracts and mission assurance to ensure the successful execution and delivery of the final system.
The CA CMC Assembly Integration and Test Lead will:
Manage a team through the assembly, integration and testing of a complex electronics unit from electronic circuit card through unit level environmental testing on a high reliable system.
Achieve program objectives on schedule, and consistent with quality and technical standards while meeting the program cost targets
Foster culture in-line with high performance and cohesive teams necessary to meet program costs and schedule objectives.
Plan, coordinate, and communicate with the cross-functional team responsible for delivering Space systems, subsystems and products.
Support the development of cost proposals; risk and opportunity management.
Minimum of 8+ years demonstrated experience with at least 5 years working space hardware and systems engineering
Minimum of 5 years demonstrated engineering leadership experience as an Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL), functional or program manager
Must have extensive knowledge of complex RF system within a high reliability space environment.
Experience in the development and testing of high reliability space products (Class A/B)
Experience in leading technical and anomaly resolutions to closure
Fundamental understanding of RF principles and system capabilities
Knowledge of test methods to verify critical RF parameters and requirement
Knowledge and experience in software/hardware integration and test of embedded, real-time complex systems
Experience with system or subsystem level Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V)
Knowledge of environmental test methods and practices (e.g. Dynamic, Vibration, EMI, Thermal Vacuum)
Experience with thermal, vibration and EMI testing
Experience in receiving unit and subsystems and taking ownership of integrating and testing those elements for final sell-off
Experience in developing transition to production, integration and test plans for space projects
Understanding of the requirements development and flow down process
Knowledge of STE design, testing or operation
Experience with the technical reviews (PDR, CDR, TRR, PER etc)
Experience with System and Subsystem Level Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V)
Experience with cost and schedule management using a government approved Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Experience identifying test resources and skill sets required to complete assigned tasks
Experience establishing and maintaining working relationship with all levels of the organization, including customers, users, and other peer groups
Must be a U.S. Citizen as the position requires the use of US Data Systems
Must be a U.S. Citizen as the position will require the ability to attain a DoD Secret Clearance within 1 year of employment start date
U.S. Citizens is required as the position will require the ability to access US only data systems
U.S. Citizenship is required as the position will required the ability to attain a DoD Secret Clearance within 1 year of employment start date
Experience with RF tuning, calibration and phase noise measurement techniques
Experience in RF Communications and/or Radar Systems technical domains
Experience in proposal development including creations of Basis-of-Estimates
Experience with Software integration, test, and configuration management
Active TS/SCI or SSBI Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Math, Sciences related Technical degrees, Business, or Operations Management, Supply Chain, Finance or related fields
Masters degree in Engineering, Math, Science or related Technical degrees, Business, or Operations Management, Supply Chain, Finance or related fields
