Raytheon Technologies Mgr III Human Resources in El Segundo, California

The Human Resources function at Raytheon Intelligence & Space is considered a business partner and valued member of any leadership team. We have an opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to support the rapidly growing Space Systems product line reporting to the Human Resources Director for Space & C2 who will provide guidance and growth to this role.

The Manager III, Human Resources is accountable for delivering Human Resources and overall business solutions in support of the Space Systems vice president and leadership team (LT). This position requires the ability to not only leverage our core processes to achieve business results, but to integrate strategies around Diversity & Inclusion, Organizational Effectiveness and Talent Development at a skilled level as it relates to shaping organizational strategy.

This role requires the ability to understand and shape the overall people strategy through the application of sound Human Resources practices. Key to the success of this role is one’s ability to successfully build and maintain solid relationships with executive-level leaders across HR and be able to drive superior results across the enterprise. The ideal candidate must be exemplar in working across the matrix, partnering with the businesses in multiple locations to deliver performance excellence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Execution of critical HR processes, including compensation, performance management, talent acquisition, talent development and workforce planning.

  • Ensures Talent Acquisition and Talent Development needs are met with appropriate and timely support and resources in collaboration with the HR team

  • Advocate and drive for the resolution of employee issues and concerns including internal investigations, corrective actions and coaching

  • Provide coaching and management for the Compensation, Performance Development and the HR Review processes;

  • Integrate Diversity into business goals and strategies

  • Design programs to support talent development imperatives

  • Integrate broad knowledge of HR policies, processes and practices to ensure effective execution and compliance

  • Drive ownership of enterprise talent in partnership with the HR Leadership Team

  • Applies sound judgment to identify issues and prescribe HR solutions in ambiguous situations with confidence

  • Develops a reputation as a neutral and approachable HR manager focused on employees and leaders and the organization

  • Collaborates with the HR Business Partner, HR Operations Center, and Centers of Excellence to provide high-impact HR solutions

  • Develop successful partnerships with leaders in the organization; ability to influence strategy and outcomes; translate strategy into tactics.

  • Embraces and models Raytheon’s core values, integrity and accountability to further advance the organizational culture

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years professional Human Resources experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations or related field

  • Proven ability to partner effectively with Senior Leadership and employees at all levels

  • Ability to influence and manage change

  • Experience as a strategic HRBP with demonstrated success in driving business results

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Ability to think strategically with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work effectively in a highly matrixed environment, demonstrated collaboration skills

  • Experience in handling and leading multiple projects

  • Strong business acumen and diverse business perspective

  • Solid computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Requires occasional travel

  • Broad progressive HR management experience; preferably across multiples functions; Aerospace and Defense or Engineering/Technology based companies are preferred.

  • Demonstrated Business and HR acumen (able to create HR strategy/actions that impact business success)

  • Demonstrated ability to develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity that require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovation

  • Demonstrated ability to engage/ influence senior level leaders regarding key business priorities, issues and initiatives

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Master's Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Management or related field

  • HRCI Certification

  • HR Management experience in the defense industry

  • Experience and understanding of a wide array of Human Resources management systems and tools, including talent and performance management, compensation, and rewards systems

  • Strong people skills with the ability to engage, influence and negotiate with major stakeholders, vendors and internal resources

  • Collaborative within matrix and with enterprise/business stakeholders

  • Highly adaptable and agile to manage and influence complexity and evolving priorities

  • Strong project management and prioritization skills

  • Strong knowledge/experience with HR fundamentals including Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Relations.

  • In-depth understanding of Raytheon (or your company’s) technology and products

  • Strong Executive presence and Business Acumen

  • HR leadership experience supporting a large complex Engineering organization

  • Experience with organizational change, organizational learning and development, performance management, organizational effectiveness, and talent management

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Industrial Relations or related field

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
