We are seeking a Payload Electronic Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE) who has experience with the life cycle a space mission including system-level trades, requirements development & flow down, system interface development, RF testing, performance assessment, integration & test, verification, and validation. The desired candidate would have knowledge in Electronics, RF Analysis, FPGAs, and Interface Management.

This position will interface with the Lead Systems Engineer, Chief Engineer, Responsible Hardware Engineers and other stake holders to ensure program objectives are achieved. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.

This position is eligible for a sign on bonus up to $15,000

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years engineering experience

  • Experience with verification, validation, and requirement sell-off

  • Experience with subsystem development, electrical interface definition, and requirements & allocation development

  • Experience in testing RF electronics

  • Experience defining technical budgets (i.e. Power, gain budget)

  • Experience in preparing management level briefings and summary explanations

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication capability, and ability to work in an integrated product team environment

  • Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills to enable effective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-discipline team

  • Ability to work independently and within team environment

  • Active/Current SSBI Clearance

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of Day 1 of employment

    Desired Skills:

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of the organization

  • Experience with Requirement Management using IBM Rational DOORs

  • Experience with Integration and Test of Space Hardware

  • Experience in designing and analysis of electrical circuits, analog, digital and RF

  • Strong Experience in RF electronic testing using Network Analyzers. Spectrum Analyzers and O-scopes

  • Experience in RF and DSP analysis using MATLAB

  • Experience developing embedded software or firmware

  • Experience with digital command and status of FPGAs

  • Ability to carry out design of spacecraft subsystems

  • Experience with mission operations and CONOPS

  • Knowledge of space radiation environment and orbital debris environment

  • Familiarity with Model Based System Engineering tools (such as IBM Rational, Magic Draw, or Vitec CORE) for developing architectures and functional analysis

  • Knowledge of US Export/Import laws in regards to space technologies

    Required Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related STEM discipline

    Desired Education:

    Master’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related STEM discipline
