We are seeking a
Ground Systems IPT Lead
for our satellite programs.
The successful candidate will have experience handling programmatic responsibilities on satellite programs.
A strong background supporting satellite ground systems is desired.
Close collaboration with other integrated product teams (space vehicle, mission operations, etc.) will be critical to the success of the program.
This position will interface with the Lead Systems Engineer, Chief Engineer and other stakeholders to ensure program objectives are achieved. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.
• 8+ years space systems engineering experience • Extensive experience working with space telemetry, tracking, and command (TT&C) • Experience working with commercial or government
satellite ground service providers • Experience handling programmatic responsibilities, including scheduling and earned-value management • Strong understanding of issues relevant to ground station operation, including:
Satellite orbit and communications availability issues
Cybersecurity issues related to space communications
Ground software and data processing requirements
Ground equipment requirements • Experience working with multi-disciplined teams • Experience interfacing with customers and subcontractors • Comfortable working in a fast paced and dynamic multi-disciplinary environment • Ability to build strong relationships with program internal and external customers
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires an active DoD Secret Security Clearance on Day 1 of employment
• Familiarity with NRL Neptune software architecture • Experience working at/with Blossom Point Satellite Command and Tracking Facility • Knowledge of US Export/Import law in regards to space technologies • Experience working with operations staff, sub-contractors, team members and customers • Prior Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) or line engineering management experience • Experience supporting subsystem level assembly, integration, and test (AI&T) of EO/IR sensors
BS degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or related STEM discipline
