Raytheon Technologies Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave Design Electrical Engineer in El Segundo, California
Raytheon Intelligence & Space is hiring a Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave Design Engineer. The RF/Microwave Design Engineer will be responsible for participating in the development of state-of-the-art antennas. This position is within the Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) Airborne RADAR Electronics Department in El Segundo, CA. The primary role for this individual will be to perform design, analysis, and testing for RF/Microwave components used in phased array antennas. Individual must have experience in microwave design techniques and impedance matching as well as working knowledge of simulation tools and microwave test equipment. The RF/Microwave Design Engineer will have knowledge and experience in designing circuits for implementation in printed circuit board materials as well as ceramic substrates. The successful candidate will be capable of making technical presentations to peers, program leadership, and customers and assist program management in new business development.
Minimum Five years of experience designing, simulating, implementing, testing, integrating, verifying, validating and delivering RF/Microwave products.
Experience with using Ansys HFSS, CST, or FEKO.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain a (DOD Secret) U.S. Security Clearance within one year of start date.
Specific design experience with one or more of the following products (phased array antennas, radiating elements, radomes, frequency selective surfaces, power splitters, feed networks, couplers, filters, circulators, RF modules/assemblies)
Experience with microwave test equipment and calibration techniques especially use of a vector network analyzer; or experience in antenna range testing.
Experience with antenna range test techniques.
Experience using Keysight ADS, Matlab, and AutoCAD.
Hardware experience at microwave and millimeter-wave frequencies.
Current DoD Secret or Top Secret Clearance
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or similar STEM equivalent discipline
M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
