Raytheon Technologies Space Systems is currently in need for a Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for the Tumlin effort. This technical position requires a top performer with strong tactical and space systems engineering for EO/IR payloads.

The SEIT IPT Lead is responsible for ensuring the assigned team’s objectives are achieved on schedule, within budget, and consistent with quality and technical standards. The SEIT IPT lead oversees execution on all aspects of the systems engineering, integration and test team’s work products. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for providing technical leadership, control account ownership, guidance, and direct interfacing with internal and external customers.

The SEIT IPTL’s responsibilities include the overall technical execution of the systems engineering, integration, test, IV&V functions, and communication and interface with program leadership. The candidate will be responsible for cost and schedule, task management, staffing coordination, variance analysis and earned value reporting. Additionally, the SEIT IPTL will supervise systems engineering, system requirements, system testing, updating of test procedures, and generation of sell-off reports. The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to work in a high paced, high demand program environment, and to manage SEIT resources (including staff, facilities, and equipment) efficiently. Finally, the candidate must also successfully interface with the Product Area Chief Engineer and lead the management of subcontractors.

This SEIT IPTL role is responsible for the Systems Engineering of a development and ground demonstration program within the Special Programs portfolio of Space Systems. Activities include:

Generation and management of artifacts associated with a Technical Baseline which include Technical Performance Metrics (TPMs) / Key Performance Parameters (KPPs), operational views, concept of operations (CONOPS) architectures, compliance matrices, system specifications, interface requirements specifications and system designs.

Development and flow down of systems requirements, error budget trees, and performance modeling, simulation and analysis

Development of test strategies, verification plans, and test procedures

Integration of hardware and software

Ensuring systems engineering products (e.g., studies, designs, analyses, reports, etc.) meet objectives/expectations

Creating technical presentations to both internal and external customers

Key presenter at technical reviews (SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TIMs)

Communicating status, results, and recovery plans (if needed) to senior and executive management

Partner with the Chief Engineer and Program Manager to ensure flawless program execution

Required Skills:

Minimum 10 years of industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years in space-based EO/IR systems

Experience with architecture, hardware, software and system integration of Electro-optical and/or infrared remote sensors

Experience being a part of technical teams and providing technical mentoring to others

Experience with developing and presenting technical briefings to the customer and company management

Experience effectively leading teams of technical experts to resolve challenging technical problems, including multi-disciplined team

Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation), with prior experience in dealing with customers, management, technical staff, and internal / external organizations

Experience with requirements management tool such as Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)

Experience in cost and schedule management using a government approved Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

Experience with leading program startup including defining the SEMP

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance as of Day 1 of Employment

Active TS clearance

Desired Skills:

Experience with critical design reviews, test readiness reviews, and test review boards

Experience with creating and maintaining SEIT technical baseline

Experience in Model Based System Engineering tools for developing architectures and functional analysis.

Experience leading development, systems engineering, and testing of electro-optical (EO) space systems

Experience with EOIR payload electronic modules

Experience with modeling and simulation of space systems, as well as Mission & CONOPS analysis

Experience in IV&V planning, test methodologies and test requirements development for space systems

Knowledge of US Export/Import law in regards to space technologies

Experience in deploying a rigorous Integrated Product Development Process

Experience with Environmental Testing activities such as thermal, vibration and EMI

Experience with STE design, testing or operation

Experience with software integration and test, configuration management

Experience in proposal management, from initial pursuit and capture planning to proposal delivery

Education Requirements:

Required Education:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related STEM discipline

Desired Education:

Masters degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related STEM discipline
