The Sr. Sales Business Development Manager is responsible for supporting and leading all activities associated with new business in the Emerging Technologies product portfolio at RVS. The Emerging Technologies product portfolio drives technology innovation and advancement into RVS. This role will support all elements of qualifying and winning new business, opportunity investigation and validation, meeting assigned bookings plan, competitive intelligence, market research and analysis, price to win, management of new business investment funds, customer engagement, proposal offerings, and strategy development. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, assertive, and a self-starter capable of working independently. A successful candidate will be able to quickly learn the RVS Emerging Technologies portfolio and speak fluently about our technologies, navigate through the internal and external customer community, and thrive in a fast paced environment
This position will operate under the guidance of the RVS Business Development Lead and the Emerging Technologies Product Portfolio Lead.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
Candidate should be commutable into a major RI&S facility.
Collaborate with cross functional teams, partner with internal Raytheon customers, and develop relationships with existing and new external customers.
Develop customer presentation material, strategy briefings for leadership, and gate review packages.
Develop customer, competitor, and market understanding for assigned market sub-segment.
Meet assigned bookings plan and develop a robust pipeline to drive growth into the business
Support and/or oversee RFI responses and proposal activities
Develop customer contact plans and host/facilitate customer meetings.
Develop customer talking point white papers for leadership customer meetings
Develop strategy to drive growth and support annual long range planning
Manage assigned new business investment funds for selling and bidding activities
Support ad hoc company reporting requirements (as needed)
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in business development, program management, or technology development management.
Demonstrated ability to be proactive, creative, and innovative in solving problems and issues
Excellent computer skills including high level of proficiency with MS office products (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a multi-functional team
Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
Ability to deal successful with complexity and ambiguity
An understanding of DoD acquisition process
Ability to travel
Innovative thinker with strong initiative.
Secret Clearance within 1 year of start
Knowledge of focal plane array technologies
Existing relationship with focal plane array and camera technologies communities/customers
Existing TS/SCI Clearance
Required Education (including Major): BA or BS degree
Desired Education: MBA or Master’s Degree preferred
