Raytheon’s Intelligence & Space Hardware Engineering Center is seeking a Senior Principal On-Board Processor (IPT) Lead to join the team in the Space Systems RF & Communications Electronics department.

This is an excellent opportunity to become involved in the development of the leading technologies that will drive the success of our space flight missions. The person hired for this position will lead, mentor, and work alongside a talented team towards the development, test, and integration of new state-of-the-art systems for space application.

An IPT Lead acts independently as guided by broad company policies and objectives. The selected candidate for this role will manage a multi-disciplinary group of engineers and will coordinate support with operations and supply chain. This individual will also be responsible for the development and administration of budgets, schedules, and performance standards aligned with the goal of meeting the overall quality, schedule, and budgetary milestones. He/she will be responsible for completing financial Estimate at Complete (EAC), leading program gate reviews, and will facilitate independent peer reviews of the work product. This selected candidate will also participate in new business activities that may include supporting the development of proposals, preparing bids, and developing basis of estimates.

Candidates for the IPT Lead role should have experience working engineering solutions based on program requirements towards a finished product, ensuring the robust design of circuitry and assemblies. Using the application of advanced principles, theories, concepts, and techniques, the IPT Lead assists in providing solutions to a variety of technical problems that may be impeding program progress which may also require coordination of technologies across the program. The IPT Lead will also lead briefings and technical meetings for internal and external stakeholders / customers.

The Senior Principal On-Board Processor (IPT) Lead must have previous experience in the design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital/mixed-signal electronic modules and/or CCAs. The ideal candidate will be experienced in all aspects of circuit card design from concept through delivery to higher level assemblies as evidenced by multiple successful design completions (including hardware designs with processors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces, such as Serial Rapid IO, Spacewire, PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, UART).

Required Skills:

  • Must have at least 10 years of related technical experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 8 years of experience with a Master's Degree.

  • Prior experience as an IPT Lead.

  • At least four years of project leadership including cost, schedule, and technical responsibility of complex electronics subsystems.

  • Experience leading electronics development (labor and material) for high-value programs.

  • Earned Value / Control Account Manager certification.

  • Experience developing and maintaining complex integrated master schedules.

  • Experience with developing technical baselines and cost volumes in response to Request for Proposals from the government.

  • Experience with supplier management for the development of new components and assemblies.

  • Experience managing engineering teams responsible for the development of custom electronic hardware.

  • Experience in the design, analysis, development, bread-boarding, troubleshooting, integration and testing of mixed signal circuitry.

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position requires the ability to obtain an DoD clearance within one year of start date.

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:

  • Prior experience in the development of solution for Aerospace, Defense, and Space Flight application.

  • Experience or familiarity with the Xilinx Versal Adaptive Compute Acceleration Platform.

  • Familiarity with HDL and IO constraints for programmable logic.

  • Existing DoD clearance.

  • Graduate engineering degree and/or MBA.

Required Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline from an ABET accredited university.

Desired Education:

Master’s degree and/or PhD in Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
