Raytheon Technologies Senior Procurement Specialist in El Segundo, California

Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S) is seeking a Principal Procurement Specialist for the Product Support (PS) procurement team within the Cybersecurity, Training, and Services (CTS) organization. This position is primarily responsible for sourcing, negotiating, awarding, documenting and managing the procurement cycle for both material and services based requirements. In this role, the individual will be responsible for placing requirements on purchase order in the most efficient, cost effective, and compliant manner.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensures the enterprise, prime contract, and category/product/service specific requirements are properly communicated to the suppliers.

  • Analyzes supplier’s quotes/proposals to ensure a fair and reasonable price is achieved.

  • Manages supplier performance to cost, delivery, quality, technical and programmatic/contractual requirements.

  • Compiles and analyzes industry/market and Raytheon data to select appropriate suppliers.

  • Compiles technical, quality, delivery, and contractual requirements to prepare/issue requests for quote (RFQ).

  • Interfaces with Raytheon and supplier cross-functional organizations.

  • Executes to Raytheon and customer requirements including government regulations (such as FAR/DFAR), public law and Raytheon policies/procedures.

  • The individual will work extensively with CTS program teams, Material Program Managers (MPM), and other cross-functional stakeholders.

    Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in procurement/buying role.

  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a dynamic, fast paced, changing environment

  • Conduct formal negotiations (price, schedule and supplier exceptions) to contractual requirements.

  • Ability to place a PO of medium to high complexity and process a medium volume of POs across various programs

  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal customers and suppliers.

  • Ability to perform effectively and independently in a virtual environment

  • Must be able to handle multiple decisions based on workload dispersion, program priorities, and business decisions

  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to think strategically

  • Proficiency to perform and comprehend price analyses, source selection/justification, with guidance as needed

  • Experience w/ DOD procurements, thorough knowledge and experience with Government regulations and public law, and a strong compliance posture

  • Proven ability to collaborate across an organization and operate effectively within a matrix environment by resolving conflict and influencing others

  • Ability to effectively manage job responsibilities with minimal supervision

  • Capability to quickly assimilate new information, processes and tools

    Desired Skills:

  • Use standard computer systems focused on supplier management processes (SAP-PRISM)

  • Ability to filter information from multiple sources to drive innovative solutions

  • Experience working with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Raytheon tools, as well as knowledge of supply chain processes

  • Knowledge of reading drawings.

  • Experience in analyzing supplier’s cost structures

    Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor’s Degree - Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Contract Administration, or similar discipline or 6+ years’ experience in supply chain roles, preferably with defense contractors, in lieu of education
