We Systems Engineering Center (SEC) are seeking an RF Mechanical Systems Engineer for the Space Systems (SS) Mission Area of Raytheon Technologies Intelligence and Space business. The RF Mechanical Systems Engineer will be involved in the developing and designing of RF payloads as well as performing a variety of performance simulations including antenna architecting, system requirements developing and tracking, sensor performance, and thermal accuracy modeling to ensure the RF payload meets performance requirements. Successful candidates should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.
Responsibilities include working the Lead System Engineer and the design team to model and characterize the sensor as it makes its way through design, development, integration, and test. This includes modeling and simulation of various performance parameters of the sensor including: RF performance, SNR calculations, link budgets, thermal accuracy, and a variety of other estimates needed to properly design, build, and sell off the RF payload. The position will be require sharing results with the other team members, senior mgmt., external customers, and leading a team of other analysts in support of the specified objectives. Good communication skills are required. The candidate will need to know how to decompose payload requirements to sensor requirements, and the trades associated with the requirements decomposition.
This position is eligible for a sign on bonus up to $20,000
Current and Active Secret Clearance Required
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in space systems engineering, analysis, and/or verification
Responsible for the overall mechanical design, manufacturing, assembly, acceptance, qualification of RF systems
Proven ability to work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Software, Controls and IV&V teams
Modeling and Simulation experience in PTC Creo, Simulink, Matlab, and Windchill, or other modeling tools
Experience in the engineering design and/or test of RF and associated special test equipment
Experience in preparing and delivering briefings to management and customers
Capable of effectively leading a team environment, often under tight deadlines
Demonstrated desire to successfully pursue new challenges, improve and broaden technical skills, seek greater responsibilities, and increase individual value to the organization
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems
Familiar with space hardware, specifically RF hardware such as amplifiers, receivers, antennas, etc.
Experience with Mission Engineering of space systems
Experience in IV&V planning, test methodologies and test requirements development for space systems
Experience in environmental test methods
Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related STEM discipline
Masters of Science degree in Engineering, Sciences, Math, or related STEM discipline
