Raytheon Technologies Sr Material Program Management Specialist in El Segundo, California
Raytheon is looking for a Sr. Material Program Specialist for programs located in El Segundo, CA in support of a program within Space Systems.
The Material Program Manager (MPM) is an excellent leader with demonstrated project administration skills. The candidate for this position must be a self-starter, capable of developing and achieving organizational and program goals, and must be able to successfully interface with all levels of internal organization, including supplier organization.
The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies and plans for a program in the Strategic Systems Program area within the Space Systems Mission Area. The MPM will serve as the liaison between the Program Director, Program Managers, IPT’s and Supply Chain organization. They will be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of program material strategies, supply chain goals, and company goals. The MPM will support program supply chain activities, and will advise the Business Unit SCM Director and Sr. Manager as well as the program management office key team members on material strategies and plans. The candidate may lead front end of the business SCM activities including early supply chain organization involvement and early supplier involvement. The position requires a person who will be able to exert influence and have an effect on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the programs and the program IPT team.
The MPM may work across multiple programs within Space Systems. The candidate must be able to work with administration and internal customers, including Program Office, Quality, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Contracts. The MPM will represent the Supply Chain organization on policies, strategies and goals, oversee all SCM activities needed to meet program requirements, and ensure a thorough link within and between various Supply Chain functions, including Sourcing, Logistics, and Production Control. The MPM is the acknowledged authority on all supply chain issues and their impact on the company programs.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
•Responsible to the customer and program organization to meet all material contract goals (technical, cost, and schedule)
•Support supply chain proposal activities including task descriptions and basis of estimates that match the PTW strategies
•Support customer communications and building customer relationships
•Reporting, tracking, and managing of an integrated product team and/or program responsible for the delivery of procured material from the suppliers, through external testing, and shipment to its contractual destination
•Resolve material shipment and/or data issues with the program office and customer
•Work collaboratively with all other functions to ensure that cost estimates and EACs are accurate, processes are being followed, and staffing is appropriate for implementation.
•Conduct material contract closure activity together with Contracts and Program Office
•Establish material priorities across the IPT and/or program
•Provide comprehensive Supply Chain support for Gates 0-11 activities and ensures IPDP compliance for the programs and tailoring when applicable. Key activities typically include: financial overseeing (i.e., EV, budgets, targets, working capital, material sales forecasts, etc.)
•Support the Control Account Manager (CAM)
•Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience in Supply Chain, Supplier Management or Project/Program Management
•Experience leading in cross-functional environment or teams
•Experience translating customer terms and conditions into supplier requirements and reviewing statements of work for completeness and conformance to program requirements
•Experience in Earned Value Management or demonstrated performance against financial budgets and forecasts
•Experience developing & executing Risk/Opportunity plans to meet program goals
•Experience interfacing with external customers and all levels of internal management
•Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Material Program Manager Level 4 certified
•Knowledge of US Government acquisition laws and regulations
•Experience in international sourcing, subcontract management or related international business experience
•Experience with international direct commercial or foreign military sales
•Experience working development or transition to production programs
•Experience developing & executing the make/buy/where process
•Demonstrated project management skills
•Experience with developing and analyzing performance metrics as well as experience proactively addressing associated program and functional issues
•Front Line Leadership / Management of Direct Reports
•Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist/Six Sigma Green Belt qualified
•Technical knowledge of space related hardware applications as well as knowledge of operational and manufacturing processes (assembly, integration, and test)
•Fluency in Raytheon systems, process, and procedure.
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelors in SCM, Business or related field
