We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer - Design, Integration, and Test Automation to join the Space Test Automation team at our El Segundo, California campus to further help evolve our technology and grow our business into new domains and markets. In this role you will be responsible for leadership in the design, development, assembly, Integration & Test (I&T), and validation of Mechanical Special Test Equipment (MSTE) for Space hardware and remote sensing applications.

Security Clearance Requirement: An active and in-scope Secret or above level U.S. Security Clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. citizens are eligible for a Security Clearance
Extensive Mechanical Engineering Project Management experience within an integrated product team environment
Lead design and development experience of Test Equipment for Defense and/or Aerospace Systems
Extensive leadership experience in an engineering laboratory transitioning from design to production / manufacturing through integration and test creating assembly procedures and test plans for Mechanical Support Equipment
Comprehensive Mechanical CAD experience (ProE / CREO highly preferred)
Advanced understanding and experience of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with presenting program technical status and/or program cost and schedule reporting throughout the engineering product lifecycle for executive leadership, functional management, and/or senior level internal / external stakeholders
Proposal development experience, including Basis of Estimate (BOE) creation. (Earned Value Management ((EVM)) highly preferred).
Experience creating and presenting formal review packages, such as: Test Readiness Review (TRR), Failure Review Board (FRB), Material Review Board (MRB), and/or Consent to Ship Review (CTSR)
Current Secret Security Clearance required (Top Secret, SSBI, and/or above level Security Clearance highly preferred)
Extensive Defense Space Systems experience
Excellent technical experience with Optical, Digital and/or RF System Special Test Equipment (STE) hardware
Demonstrated electro-mechanical test equipment experience, including: trouble-shooting and failure diagnosis
Familiarity with electronic packaging design and integration; including: interpreting signal lists, Electrical Interconnect Diagrams (EICDs), and intra and inter box knowledge
Knowledge of commercial Finite Element Software, such as NASTRAN / PATRAN, ANSYS Workbench, and/or ABAQUS
Experience in generating Verification Compliance Requirements Matrices, Requirements Verification Plans, Test Requirements Documents, Test Procedures and Requirements Sell-off Documents
Technical publications and/or patents
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM Degree Program (Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering highly preferred) with 8+ years' of relevant experience required, OR
Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related STEM Degree Program (Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering highly preferred) with 6+ years' of relevant experience required
