This role is for a procurement specialists that will support Program/NPI/NPD requirements on assigned programs and/or commodities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partners with SMEs on gathering information on new vendors, sources, market drivers, current processes and prices, and seeks approval from senior management.

  • Guides responses to queries from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Supports senior management in information gathering from primary and secondary sources for planning and budgeting day-to-day activities.

  • Complete ownership of Supply Chain procurement budget with a goal to beat budget by 5%.

  • Execute and manage long term agreements and/or pricing agreements to assist on guiding supplier relationships and risk reduction.

  • Manages major responsibilities across multiple supply chain disciplines on a regular basis.

  • Performs supply chain activities that cannot be attributed to a defined discipline. May also include professional employees required to perform activities across several disciplines at smaller sites.

  • Assist the bid team with pricing and source information and review the contract assumptions and budget allowances of the bid team hand off.

  • Closely monitor the engineering bill of materials as it evolves to ensure component parts selected will not be outside the budget. Find alternatives for high priced or long lead time parts. Review inventory on hand and work with engineering on opportunities to use excess material.

  • Work with Program IPT for early involvement of Supply Chain to guide the design process to support business goals and objectives.

  • Approve/disapprove new parts to be added to the program and manage quoting/ordering of long lead time or high cost items to support program release and budget.

  • Quote unreleased drawings, new product tooling and development and negotiate to support program budget requirements.

  • Monitor engineering release schedule and escalate concerns that will impact available Supply Chain and Operations lead times.

  • Work closely and support commodity buyers on program changes, part release and supplier concerns. Provide support and communication to buyers and leadership throughout the life of the program.

  • Support the testing requirements for the program.

  • Manage incoming BFE to support programs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of MRP systems and how the engineering BOM release impacts the overall success of procurement.

  • Can identify risks that affect supply and delivery.

  • Ability to support budgeting and financial analysis

  • Can execute commodity sourcing strategies and participate in supplier development activities.
