Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting Product Engineers with the creation of 3D models and drawings through the design, development, and integration of aircraft Vacuum Waste and Potable Water systems through all the phases of the product lifecycle including preliminary design, development, certification, and product support.
The ideal candidate has a desire for continual learning with excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, self-motivated, innovative, well-organized, able to handle and prioritize multiple assignments, able to communicate effectively both orally and written and able to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
This position is for a Master Drafting Services / Product Definition technician. Primary Responsibilities:
Prepares complete production detail and assembly drawings according to engineering sketches and drafting practices.
Revises detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings.
Create 3D solid and surface models.
Complete drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard drafting practices.
Assist engineers in the design of new product.
Assist in the interpretation of engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
Checking of drawings and models generated by Drafting Designers and Engineers.
A Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.
Candidate must have experience in 2D drawing and 3D modeling using Siemens NX 3D CAD software.
Candidate should be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
Candidate should have an understanding of ASME Y14.100 standards and GD&T dimensioning and tolerance.
Candidate having competencies in teamwork, customer focus, and focus on results is desirable.
Candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Experience in Siemens NX and Teamcenter
Experience in AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, and Catia V5
A Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. If no degree is held 9 years of relevant experience is required.
