Performs functions directly related to chemical processing. May use hazardous chemicals to transform them into propellants or use processing in the manufacture of aircraft parts and/or components. Duties could include; aqueous cleaning, chemical etching, chromate conversion coating, passivation and/or abrasive blasting. This is a 1st shift role. Hours are 5:30AM – 4:00PM (Monday thru Friday). Every other Saturday OT schedule – 5:30AM - 11:00AM. Overtime is available on a business needs basis.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prep, set up and tear down casting tubes and tooling

  • Logs process parameters on work orders and data sheets

  • Makes precise measurements using standard measuring instruments and balance.

  • Uses remote monitoring software to perform basic calculation and to record and properly document processes

  • Ability to recognize problems with any process equipment; notifies chain of command when tolerance limits are approached to avoid making defective parts

  • Communicate potential mechanical or safety issues

  • Takes appropriate precautions in the handling of large amounts of hazardous chemicals and materials including in some instances, energetics

  • Strictly follows written procedures to maintain safety and to ensure quality

  • Inventories large quantities of chemicals

  • Ability to read drawings and operate per manufacturing procedures

  • Knowledgeable of all pertinent customer and company specifications including but not limited to international standards relating to finishes, special processes, policies

  • Documents the process used to create / finish parts

  • Basic to intermediate computer skills required.

  • Communicate professionally and effectively.

  • Works under immediate supervision. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.

  • Develops basic job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.

  • Tasks are routine/repetitive in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

  • HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Experience using Microsoft suite is required.

  • Good written and verbal communications required.

  • Ability to work overtime and varying shifts as needed to support product delivery

  • Ability, with or without accommodation, to perform the essential functions of assembly operations

  • Demonstrated regular and predictable attendance

  • Ability to work cooperatively with leaders, peers, customers, and others in a team environment displaying mutual trust and respect

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and in teams, take initiative and resolve issues.

  • Ability to work and communicate professionally with all levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations preferred

  • Four (4) years of manufacturing experience preferred

  • Experience using an MRP related system preferred
