The Associate Director is responsible for integrating all aspects of the digital/IT supply chain and sourcing functions into Enterprise Services (ES) Strategy and Transformation Initiatives through collaborating and partnering with suppliers, ES leaders, and functional service owners. A key component of the role is to develop supplier capabilities, partnerships and category strategies for enterprise collaboration tools and services from ES work stream leaders and business units (BUs).
The ideal candidate will draw from past experience with contract/subcontract management, category management, digital sourcing, digital procurement, contract negotiations and project management skills to lead the coordination, communication and integration of suppliers to support the achievement of technical, financial and performance objectives. This candidate must have the business acumen to connect technical requirements and concerns to contract performance and should be able to proactively identify and resolve problems efficiently and effectively. This candidate will have a deep understanding of enterprise application contracts with the ability to manage licensing, maintenance, and support requirements. This leader will have a deep understanding of supplier products/services such as various strategies to drive year on year cost savings to help RTX meet its bottom line. As this is a fast-paced environment, understanding of the Collaboration tools under various licensing models to facilitate execution is strongly desired.
A deep understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, from contract negotiations, to requisition and PO placement is needed for this role. The leader continuously monitors and evaluates supplier metrics for trends and root causes and formulates proactive plans to ensure overall success of the category. Given the number of contracts, this leader must be able to effectively employ project management skills to develop and manage an integrated master schedule to engagements and other activities.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to develop effective presentations and present to leadership and peers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Leads and drive negotiations contracts for collaboration tools/services (e.g. Microsoft, Dell, HP, IBM, ServiceNow etc.).
Contingent labor contracts processing for collaboration tools and services
Manages the entire collaboration commodity area
Supports the EUS and Collaboration leader, Digital IT stakeholders and vendor consolidation activities to drive contract year on year cost savings
Establishes supplier engagement plans and enforce overall governance within portfolio
Develops and manages an integrated master schedule of engagements, renewals, RFQs, etc.
Facilitate supplier performance reviews, benchmarks & reporting
Reviews Statements of Work (SOW) documents and ensures procurement and sourcing best practices are followed
Analyze pricing and negotiate complex technology agreements
Build strong partnerships across various stakeholders (legal, finance, etc.)
Develop strong supplier relationships to drive effectiveness and value
Establish top supplier engagement plans and governance to ensure quality
Develop executive level analysis & presentations
10+ years Sourcing and Procurement Management, Contract/Subcontract Management, Category Management experience, with at least 5 years in Digital IT Preferred
Experience with sourcing roles and functions, including creating sourcing roadmaps, developing category strategies, licensing/asset management, risk management, action item management, requirement change management, metrics management, and category management
Strong negotiations and sourcing skills with understanding of different contract types (FFP, LOE, T&M, etc.)
Ability to effectively communicate, execute and manage contracts that meet technical, cost, and schedule goals
Must possess strong collaboration skills enabling effective communication and demonstrated business results working internally with functional service owners in Enterprise Services and across business units, as well as externally with suppliers
Demonstrated ability to understand financial information, budgets and program performance and develop strategies and business cases to improve performance in these areas
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead a small team through dynamic change
Strong project management skills and ability to convert requirements into executable strategies, and ability to develop and manage an integrated master schedule
Ability to effectively work with and communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team
Ability to develop effective presentations and documents used for leadership reviews
Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelors Degree 12 yrs experience, or an Advanced Degree 10 yrs experience.
