The Enterprise Software Digital Strategic Sourcing Sr Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the digital/IT software sourcing and procurement functions in Enterprise Services (ES) through collaborating and partnering with suppliers, ES leaders, and digital/IT work stream leaders. A key component of the role is to develop supplier capability, partnerships and category strategies for applications, software license/asset management, and application maintenance/configuration services.
The ideal candidate will draw from past experience in digital sourcing, digital procurement, subcontract management, category management, contract negotiations and project management skills to lead the coordination, communication and integration of suppliers to support the achievement of technical, financial and performance objectives. This candidate must have the digital business acumen to partner with functional and business unit stakeholders to form strategies that drive sourcing and negotiation decisions that lead to best value contracts. This candidate will have a deep understanding of digital application agreements with the ability to define MTAs, establish tiered pricing tables and structure rebates, negotiate contracts for price and terms, support the asset management team, and support audits. An understanding of different contract types (fixed price, T&M, etc.) will be needed to ensure maintenance and configuration services work associated with the applications aligns with commercial requirements.
The Digital Strategic Sourcing Sr Manager is also responsible for understanding technical requirements (e.g., specifications), tasking (e.g. SOW), and terms & conditions applicable to the agreements. A deep understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, from RFP development, supplier selection, contract negotiations, to requisition and PO placement is needed for this role. The Digital Strategic Sourcing Sr Manager continuously monitors and evaluates supplier metrics for trends and root causes and formulates proactive plans to ensure overall success of the category. Given the amount of contracts, the Sourcing Manager must be able to effectively employ project management skills to manage the activities.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to develop effective presentations and present to leadership and peers. This candidate must be able to operate in a fast paced environment undergoing change with high volume of activity.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Supports Enterprise Software Partnership Service leader and DIT Stakeholders in application portfolio management, apps rationalization, VAR optimization, and other application related synergy activities
Manages a portfolio of digital application suppliers
Leads and supports negotiations
Develop and issue RFIs and RFPs
Develops and manages a schedule of all engagements, renewals, RFPs/RFQs, etc.
Supports the coordination of all supplier performance reviews, benchmarks & reporting
Supports software licensing and asset management to ensure compliance to contract
Work with peers in application services in support of work related to applications and managed services
10 years sourcing and procurement management, negotiations, contract/subcontract management, with at least 5 years in DIT strategic sourcing preffered
Experience with sourcing roles and functions, including creating sourcing roadmaps, developing category strategies, software licensing and asset management, risk management, action item management and requirements change management
Strong negotiations and digital sourcing skills with a proven ability to review, negotiate and manage MTAs, amendments, renewals, different contract types (FFP, T&M, etc.) and occasional Statement of Work (SOW) related activities
Ability to effectively communicate, execute and manage contracts and vendors to meet technical, cost, and schedule goals
Must possess strong collaboration skills enabling effective communication with leaders and peers
Demonstrated ability to understand financial information, budgets and program performance and develop strategies to improve performance in these areas
Strong knowledge of digital applications and the suppliers in that space
Ability to work in a fast paced environment with dynamic change
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Training in project management
DIT experience on the operational side
Professional or advanced degree
Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
