Job Description

Responsible for supporting tax planning matters relating to Raytheon Missiles & Defense and Raytheon Intelligence & Space, two business units of Raytheon Technologies Corporation. Proactively participate in the evolution of the Raytheon Tax Department to create a fulfilling, respectful, and results oriented work environment. Assist in the development of and ensure alignment with strategic business and tax objectives to ensure global tax compliance and tax efficiencies. Communication, collaboration, and coordination with other members of the tax group, as well as other headquarter and business unit functions as appropriate and necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, prioritize, develop and implement strategies supporting the Raytheon effective tax rate and cash mobilization objectives.

  • Provide counsel to the businesses on domestic and international tax issues in connection with businesses expansions, restructurings, acquisitions, dispositions, etc.

  • Advise businesses on tax issues related to customer and supplier transactions including review and negotiation of material contracts.

  • Identify and manage foreign or domestic tax risks associated with cross border activities, including foreign to foreign transactions.

  • Support and drive ongoing discipline and improvements associated with project management.

  • Collaborate closely with corporate and business unit functions, and outside advisors.

  • Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with key stakeholders throughout the businesses.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS EXPERIENCE

This position typically requires an Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting Business Administration or related field and 10 years of applicable experience to include general and international Tax experience or a Masters’ or JD degree and 8 years of experience gained in a large, multi-national, corporate tax or accounting firm environment.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong knowledge of US domestic and international tax concepts, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, transfer pricing, inbound and outbound transfers, subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT and foreign tax credits

  • In-depth knowledge of general tax principles which may impact a multi-national manufacturing company

  • General understanding of ASC 740 tax accounting skills

  • Research and writing skills including experience drafting tax positions and agreements

  • Quantitative analysis skills including ability to review and analyze financial models

  • Ability to identify and evaluate local foreign tax issues such as permanent establishment issues, indirect taxes and withholding taxes and work with local advisors and the businesses to implement efficient structures
