Collins Aerospace is looking for an Associate Director of Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning to serve as a Foley, AL, Materials Leader.

The Materials Leader will direct, implement, and manage site SIOP, production control, logistics, receiving, shipping, supermarkets, and inventory control for the Foley, AL, Site. This position will report to the onsite GM. and is a highly cross-functional and collaborative role with significant interaction with Operations, Supply Chain, Program Materials Management, Site Materials Management, Quality, Engineering, IT, Product Development and Strategic 3PL Partners.Primary responsibilities:

  • Set strategic direction and plan, direct, and optimize all aspects of materials management across the site.

  • Serve as a safety focused leader.

  • Create talent development, training, and succession planning programs for each direct report.

  • Effectively integrate the flow of materials and information to optimize operational objectives and take ownership for reporting tactical performance and goals.

  • Ensure materials compliance with all company policies and audits.

  • Ensure effective coordination between the team and internal as well as external providers to achieve materials strategy and goals.

  • Guide the development of materials leading indicators and KPI’s associated with materials performance and conduct internal policy deployment plan reviews (PDPRs) and financial and goals.

  • Work closely with the Suppliers, Quality and Operations teams to execute product flow strategies with regards to planning, tracking, problem solving and providing PO visibility and product receipt performance.

  • Provide input and direction on supplier integration strategies such as vendor managed inventory (VMI), supplier lead time reduction and MOQ reduction.

  • Participate (key voice) in Materials Management Systems Architecture design and drive implementation of Logistics / Supply Chain systems at the site, including SAP and data analysis tools for Materials Management.

  • Manage a team that includes production control, logistics, shipping, receiving, inventory control, and work closely with intercompany sites and procurement to drive world-class OTD to our customers.

  • Implement strategies for materials flow including training through materials boot camps, APICS CPIM and ACE training/certifications.

  • Influence the VS and work collaboratively.

Critical components and abilities of this role include:

  • Lead materials strategy for the site focused on continuous improvement and a drive for results.

  • Subject matter expert (SME) for materials management, lean material flow and inventory optimization.

  • Influence Sr. Leaders across the business to gain alignment and approval for procurement strategies that will drive supplier integration and optimized inventory.

  • Influence and implement supplier integration strategies including forward stocking locations and vendor owned inventory with finished goods pull systems.

  • Set core strategies for SIOP, materials management, and logistics capacity.

  • Provide leadership and effectiveness in materials talent pipelines and organization strategy development and execution.

This role requires residence in or relocation to the Foley, AL, region and will not be remote. Must be willing to travel to meet business needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR Advance degree and 8 years of relevant experience OR in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Logistics, or related field.

  • Ten (10) years of manufacturing operations experience with five (5) years in a leadership role or 8 years of manufacturing operations experience with a Master's degree.

  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.

  • Results oriented, with a strong bias for action and results.

  • Skilled at building effective teams and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced work environment.

  • Demonstrated success launching complex products using a phase-gate methodology.

  • Proven ability to influence diverse cross-functional teams across multiple sites without formal authority.

Position Criteria

  • Advanced degree (MBA/MS).

  • Materials Mgmt., Supply Chain & Manufacturing experience across a global site & supply infrastructure.

  • Experience in Supplier Integration Strategies, Supplier PFEP, Vendor Own Inventory Strategies. Partnering with suppliers on implementing FG pull systems.

  • Experience with SAP, SAP IBP, Kinaxis or advanced simulation tools.

  • Experience working with 3PLs.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing world-class materials mgmt., manufacturing & IT best practices.

  • Experience with single piece flow in a mixed model production supporting multi-site pull systems.

  • Certified in Lean manufacturing or Six-Sigma with a demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and results.

  • Change Leadership certification, training, and experience.
