Job Description:

Raytheon Technologies currently has an exciting DT position available that supports the Raytheon Technologies mission of making the world a safer place. We are seeking a System Administrator that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. This is a Digital Technology position supporting the Raytheon Intelligence and Space Consolidated Manufacturing Center in Forest, MS. The position is to work as part of a DT Program Engagement support team responsible for DOD Collateral DT support. The candidate will need the soft skills to collaborate with a diverse team of individuals from different departments, vendors and partners. With rapidly changing environments, the candidate will have to be able to quickly prioritize their actions and think on their feet. Even though, the candidate will be working on group projects, they will need to be a self-starter and capable of completing tasks and projects on their own with little oversite. They will also have the opportunity to participate in multi-year projects that will demand them to utilize their strong documentation, prioritization and project management skills to get tasks & actions done on time with a “right the first time” attitude. The work environments will be complex and technically challenging so the candidate with have to have a strong troubleshooting skillset and have a “think out of the box” mindset to solve many of the tasks on a weekly basis.

The candidate is responsible for planning, developing, installation, configuration and maintenance of DT systems, storage, end user hardware, software, cloud, and other infrastructures aligned with customer requirements. This includes end-to-end solutions, including execution of detailed design, implementation, and sustainment activities that ensure functionality, data consistency, security and usability of systems aligned with the intended requirements and consumer priorities. Enables DT system consumers to produce their intended work products efficiently and reliably through cross-functional collaboration. Responsible for proactive and predictive management of DT environments, ensuring optimal availability, performance, and integrity be maintained through system expansion, modernization, sustainment, and retirement, based upon the demand from the system consumer. Troubleshoots and resolves DT system issues. Prepares work estimates in support of internal projects and Business Development proposal efforts. Automates routine activities, leveraging scripting and off the shelf solutions to effectively manage DT resources in physical, virtual, and cloud environments and to secure systems. Installs consumer and end user software.

Job Duties:

  • Specialized Test Equipment Support (Daily Maintenance, Business Continuity Support)

  • Working in informal and formal teams with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

  • Troubleshooting Software Issues (Custom App and COTS products)

  • Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues

  • Administer desktop computers, printers, software deployment, security updates and patches

  • Implement and support cybersecurity settings on networked, peer-to-peer, and stand-alone workstations

  • Support a ticket based tracking system where you are assigned trouble tickets and manage issues from creation to closure

  • Support daily stand-up meetings

    Required Skills:

  • Experience with full disk imaging using industry tools (Symantic Ghost) and Windows Backup Technologies

  • Experience with application installation and multi-server environment/deployment

  • Experience in support of Linux/Unix environments (e.g. RHEL, Solaris, IRIX, etc...)

  • Experience in support of Microsoft Windows desktops (e.g. Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 10)

  • Basic troubleshooting skills for network printers

  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing desktop hardware

  • General knowledge of LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems

  • U.S. Citizenship required

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in support of Microsoft Server distributions (e.g. 2003, 2008, 2012, and 2016)

  • Integrated Active Directory authentication (Kerberos, LDAP and/or Centrify)

  • Experience with VMware Software, Virtual Workstations, ESXi, and vCenter support and administration

  • Veritas Backup Exec/NetBackup or understanding of server backup concepts

  • Experience with SMTP, DHCP, DNS, NIS, LDAP, CIFS, NFS, and Samba

  • Automation via scripting - file replication, file system tuning, upgrading and configuring

  • System configuration management experience (i.e. puppet, bcfg2, cfengine)

  • Experience with Splunk

  • Experience with Lumension/Ivanti

  • Experience with HP server hardware support and diagnosis

  • Experience with HP storage hardware support and diagnosis

  • CompTIA Security+ certification

  • CompTIA A+ Certification

  • Industry-recognized certifications relevant to a UNIX/Linux System Administrator

  • Knowledge of NAS and/or SAN

  • ITIL Foundations v3

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong customer interaction skills with users of all levels

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

Required Education (including Major):

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Security related Field or similar and 2 years experience
