Job Description:

Seeking a highly motivated, Manufacturing Engineer to join our Aerospace assembly design, continuous improvement and vertically integrated company. Manufacturing Engineer must have good mechanical skills and be capable of implementing ACE methodologies in the Assembly and Landing Systems processes.

Manufacturing Engineer is also responsible for providing support to the assembly processes, maintain, revise and support preparation of assembly process documentation for Landing Gear assemblies to ensure compliance to released engineering requirements. In addition to provide support of products in production, including activities such as troubleshooting and characterizing systemic failures, maintaining product documentation, and implementing manufacturability improvements. Position Responsibilities:

Review assembly failures, to identify common failure modes and issues of a systemic nature. Characterize failures and resolve recurring problems through mistake-proofing. Lead implementation teams on Continuous Improvement methodologies to reduce cost, improve quality (FPY), and ensure on-time-delivery. Support implementation of the manufacturing / assembly line methology, such as specification, design, testing and assembly procedures. Identify areas for improved assembly manufacturability, reduced product cost, and improved product reliability. Work with suppliers during assembly issues, to correct problems or initiate improvements in accordance with manufacturability, cost and reliability improvement projects. Evaluate and disposition of non-conforming parts; provide written work instruction and perform rework on parts that do not conform to engineering drawing, specifications and or contractual requirements. Ability to interface with personnel throughout Operations, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain organizations in an efficient and productive manner, including both oral and written communications. Develop and maintain product process documentation, such as product assembly procedures, product test/calibration/alignment procedures, assembly and test checklists, standard operating procedures, etc. Develop fixtures and tooling to aid in the assembly and test of products. Develop and follow procedures, equipment, policies and practices to maintain a safe work environment at all times.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates for this role should possess a Requires theoretical knowledge typically obtained through University Degree.

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree or three years of prior relevant experience.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be analytical, observant, focused, and detail orientated.

  • Good Organization and Communication skills, ability to interface with personnel in an efficient and productive way, including both oral and written communications.

  • Good mechanical skills, ability to be hands on for assembly and test and knowledgeable of performing rework.

  • Computer skills including knowledge of SAP, CATIA, AutoCad, Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Familiarity with Engineering documentation standards, ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Good understanding of continued improvement tools and processes.

  • Preferred experience:

  • Ability to utilize and interpret CATIA Models.

  • SAP experience
