This position is for a supplier quality professional. Works as an individual contributor, project lead, and core team member to set and achieve strategic objectives within own areas of responsibility. Influences supplier quality strategy, assessment, monitoring, escape management, and quality issue resolution processes with knowledge and explanations of Collins Supplier Quality requirements, policies, and procedures.
Manages supplier quality issues through monitoring / escalation processes, escape management, processing of supplier submission of non-conforming material and supporting internal MRB processes.
Engage in Root Cause investigations
Ensure robust Corrective Actions
Drive Landing Systems Supplier Quality process improvements via strategic projects
Support nonconformance investigations on purchased material
Compile, maintain, and analyze quality data
Generate metric/data packages as needed
Conducts activities to support for the UTC Supplier Gold program to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability
Leads continuous improvement efforts and corresponding procedural creation/modification
Collect/compile data to drive on-site continuous improvement initiatives
Drives Corrective Action Boards/DQ Clinics
Support Landing Systems Supplier Quality Zero Defect Plan™
Travel may be 5% - 15% depending on business need
Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR
In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Highly motivated and a self-starter with a strong desire to succeed
Able to demonstrate ability and willingness to own quality performance metrics and drive the world class quality culture
Organizational skills and ability to work projects independently
Data and process driven
Exceptional interpersonal skills and consistent record of collaboration, flexibility, innovation, and initiative
You have a strong demonstrated desire for a career in Advanced Quality/Engineering
Ability to work with all levels of management, shop personnel and outside vendors
Experience working independently or with multi-functional teams
Project management skills
Experience with quality principles and tools
Lean and Six Sigma experience
