Raytheon Solipsys, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) and Raytheon Technologies (RTX). As Senior Manager Systems Engineering you will be responsible for leading technical initiatives for Solipsys directly impacting business growth and a group which will develop capabilities, concepts and solutions that address customer needs and promote advanced technology within Solipsys products.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Leading the development of next generation algorithms and technological discriminators that contribute to business growth.
Develop innovative solutions for complex problems in the Command and Control market.
Provide oversight and direction of investment on technologies and strategy to meet business objectives.
Develop strategies to advance the Solipsys product line, including focus on growth opportunities.
Make strategic technology recommendations to business leaders that contribute to business growth.
Ensure technical lead expertise supports business growth and program mix.
Partnering w/ business development to conceptualize and execute capture strategies, opportunity creation & shaping, provide demonstration support, & write white papers.
Providing administrative support, including hiring, manpower planning, career development planning, appraisal processing, and salary and promotion planning.
Keeping The Engineering Director informed of the Department activities and status.
Coordination of activities with other Engineering Departments.
Managing the expenses consistent with the Department budget goals and objectives.
Ensuring all engineers within the Department follow organizational development processes.
Keeping abreast of new technologies and processes at a level necessary to effectively monitor technical progress, plan for technical growth of engineers, and provide support for new business initiatives.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s engineering (Software, Systems, Electrical, Computer, etc.) or related STEM degree
12 years or more relevant engineering experience, software, systems or similar.
Management experience as engineering manager, engineering lead, chief engineer or similar
Previous experience in the application of command and control systems (C2) to air surveillance, defense, and control mission, Aegis or similar defense experience within Radar product domain
Experience with engineering development/programming languages (such as C++, JAVA or other applicable languages)
Practical experience in supporting Capture efforts including shaping BOEs, writing white papers and /or giving technical presentations to management and customers
U.S. Citizenship is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day 1 of employment with the ability to obtain special access as needed.
Qualifications We Value:
Experience leading engineering teams across the software/systems life cycle including development, build, test, and integration in to weapon systems
Familiarity with processes and principals of systems engineering
Technical competencies with Link-16, VMF, CEC and/or SSDS
Experience in Technical Leadership, Innovation, Training and Mentorship
Demonstrated experience in proactive problem solving
Knowledge to develop a business strategic vision and execute changes
Ability to write technical proposal volumes
Strong Interpersonal and Multi-tasking Skills
Knowledgeable in defense programs such as Aegis
Active Secret clearance or higher clearance
