In this new career opportunity as a Program Project Manager, the experience you bring to this position will see you work proactively, in collaboration with functional teams and defence force specialists. Engaging directly with Commonwealth representatives and RAN personnel, you will provide the vital support necessary to maintain our Collins Class Submarines.
A background in defence industry project management enhanced by knowledge in Naval or military management systems, technology, hardware and operational programs will be highly advantageous. In this position you will be entrusted with responsibility to capture, develop, plan and execute combat system upgrades and sustainment projects.
A successful Project Manager and Leader, you will:
Apply your knowledge and skills to develop, plan and implement multiple complex projects that will progress concurrently to deliver program objectives;
Lead and collaborate in a cross-functional environment to meet operational requirements; ensuring Submarine capability meets RAN defence readiness requirements to contract commitments;
Engage with Commonwealth representatives on a daily basis; communicating effectively to provide information and resolve queries and ensuring your team delivers to stakeholder KPI’s and measures.
Prepare and provide briefings and reports to required standards.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Degree qualified in Engineering, Business or Project Management, coupled with AIPM Certification as a CPPM or Raytheon Certified PM Leading at senior level.
Minimum of 8 years Project Management experience in a project leader or management position, preferably aligned with an understanding of the commercial requirements and processes of the Australian Defence sector.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written, coupled with the ability to present professionally to various stakeholder groups directly or in virtual meeting forums.
Demonstrated experience delivering head contract requirements per Statement of Work – on time, to budget and to specified standards
Prior experience with planning and managing cross-program communications and stakeholder engagement, coupled with proven background in managing teams.
