Raytheon Technologies EW Systems Engineer in Goleta, California

Raytheon Intelligence and Space is the leading provider of Electronic Warfare Systems for Space and Airborne Platforms. We have an exciting new opportunity for a System Test Engineer who will support the EWS Self Protect Systems (EWS SPS) organization by providing engineering leadership to Systems Engineering Integration & Test teams as part of the Systems Engineering Electronic Warfare (EW) Department. With over 50 active programs within EWS SPS, there are multiple opportunities, not only for career growth, but also to create innovative and cost-effective EW Systems Integration, Verification & Validation (IV&V) solutions to support the EWS SPS business area.

Responsibilities :

  • Generate test plans for assessing EW system performance

  • Generate test documentation for verification/acceptance of components, subsystems, and systems

  • Architect test configurations for exercising the Unit Under Test in both lab and field environments

  • Collaborate with other disciplines to develop Special Test Equipment for Subsystems/Systems Integration and Test

  • Plan and create schedules for IV&V activities

  • Execute IV&V activities as the Technical lead for multidisciplinary Integration and Test teams

  • Support Functional Configuration Audits as a part of Subsystems/Systems sell-off

  • Execute in-house and off-site test activities for demonstrations and/or subsystem sell-off

  • Brief senior engineering leadership

    Required Skills :

  • Minimum of 6 years of EW/Radar systems engineering experience

  • Experience with EW/Radar systems integration, verification and validation

  • Experience planning, managing, leading, and executing systems integration, verification and validation activities

  • Experience preparing system/subsystem test documentation (e.g. plans, procedures and reports)

  • Hands-on experience with subsystem/system integration and test set-up and Special Test Equipment

  • Experience preparing and presenting oral and written reports/briefings

  • Experience developing test configurations for component or subsystem checkout and verification

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with Active (or active within past 24 months) DoD Secret Clearance

  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to access to US only data systems

    Desired Skills :

  • Experience writing requirements for EW/Radar system test equipment and Special Test Equipment

  • Experience leading system test equipment and special test equipment development activities

  • Experience troubleshooting, testing and integrating EW/Radar system test equipment

  • Experience modeling the performance of system test equipment

  • Experience modeling the performance of EW/Radar systems

  • Experience with millimeter and microwave RF at both the system and module levels

  • Experience with integration of mixed signal modules into the next higher assembly

  • Experience with security requirements related to government testing

  • Experience in Earned Value Management / Cost Account Management

  • Experience with requirements tracking tools such as DOORS

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation within five years

    Required Education (including major):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.

    Desired Education (including major):

  • Master’s / Ph.D degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
