Raytheon Technologies Optical Thin Films Production Associate Senior in Goleta, California
Raytheon Vision System is looking for an Optical Thin Films Production Specialist to join the Thin Films multi-disciplinary team who has a passion for technology and willingness to learn optical coating technology, processes, and inspections.
The Production Specialist must demonstrate a safety first work routine, have a proficient understanding of the technical aspects associated with his/her assigned process, and the ability to work with process engineering to resolve production issues. The individual needs to be able to coordinate work flow with co-workers and effectively communicate with engineering and management. Participation in cross training activities is required. Routine work is performed with minimal supervision.
The individual in this position will perform a wide variety of tasks in support of the optical coating process and product inspections. Some duties include cleaning optics and chambers, photolithography patterning and alignment, applying technical drawing specs to product, defect analysis, PVD preparation and deposition, spectral evaluations, and critical inspections to enable on time and accurate deliveries.
The individual must perform and document weekly SPC activities, work on computers in order to follow the written instructions, track WIP, document required data, and operate the equipment. Both attention to detail and the ability to follow written work instructions is mandatory. A mechanical aptitude, the ability to work in a class 1000 cleanroom, and the flexibility to work overtime or weekends occasionally to meet the factory’s needs are also desired.
4+ years of related manufacturing and a high school diploma required at a minimum.
Expertise with photolithography processes (photoresist spin, complex pattern alignment, and developing). Manual or semi-automated experience preferred.
Expertise in performing microscope inspections of product to specifications, read and understand technical drawings, and be able to apply knowledge of the optical elements to confirm conformance of product for critical pass/fail analysis.
Ability to work safely with various processing equipment, microscopes, chemicals, and raw production materials.
Experience in a cleanroom environment with the ability to maintain all ESD, Safety, and security protocols.
Ability to accurately read and follow detailed equipment operating and product process specific instructions.
Intermediate computer skills, ability to accurately record process parameters, strong interpersonal communication skills, and ability to handle delicate hardware.
Willingness to learn new skills and work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
Provide feedback to Engineering for Process sustaining or improvements as needed.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require a clearance within the first year of employment and the ability to access US only data systems.
Option to do a Shifted work week after fully trained: 1st shift Sat-Weds.
Experience with thermal and e-beam evaporation and vacuum tools, sputtering, etc.
4 years’ experience with manual and semi-automated processing equipment that could include steppers, hotplates, surface treatment tools (UVO/Plasma), Wet Bench processing, sand blasting, and ESD handling of sensitive devices.
4 years’ experience with coating characteristic analysis tools that could include spectral analysis of transmittance or reflectance, profilometers, ellipsometers, interferometers, or others.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting experience.
High school diploma or equivalent required at a minimum
