Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RIS) has an exciting new Reliability Engineer Systems Engineering position working for Self-Protect Systems (SPS) in Goleta, CA. This is a great opportunity for an early career individual to continue building on their Systems Engineering career foundation at our Raytheon Goleta facility located near beautiful Santa Barbara, California.
The successful candidate will perform systems engineering tasks associated with the reliability, maintainability, supportability, and safety (RMSS) of military systems. Position will require using engineering knowledge to learn the theory behind how electronic warfare systems work and using this knowledge to influence system design and development. The successful candidate will perform systems engineering duties including analyzing engineering drawings, influencing product maintainability design decisions, and helping to ensure system design meets operational requirements. As part of the systems engineering team supporting the design of new systems, the selected candidate will be required to perform reliability engineering tasks such as reliability modeling, allocation, and prediction, and parts stress and derating analysis. Position will also require the individual to independently perform FRACAS processes, FMECA, Failure Diagnosis and Data/Trend Analysis, and Reliability Demonstration Testing on multiple programs. The individual will be required to work with experienced RMSS engineers to learn all areas and work products within the Whole Life Engineering discipline. The selected candidate will also be required to develop System Safety plans and Hazard Analysis Reports.
Position may require occasional CONUS travel. While developing RMSS data, the selected candidate will be required to solve problems through drawing from prior experiences, with analysis of the issue. The selected candidate will be required to work independently on larger, moderately complex projects/ assignments and will set objectives for own job area to meet the objectives or goals of projects and assignments.
2+ years of related work experience
Previous experience developing Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability predictions for military systems
Experience developing failure reporting and corrective action reports
Experience using reliability modeling software
Ability to read and/or interpret engineering drawings
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Experience developing System Safety plans and Hazard Analysis Reports
Experience developing technical documentation and training materials
Excellent communications, organizational, and customer interface skills
Experience giving presentations
Experience using Earned Value Management System
Good mechanical skills
Required Education (including Major):
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM
