Raytheon Technologies Senior Electrical Engineer in Goleta, California
Raytheon Intelligence and Space business unit is seeking a highly motivated, experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to work on Electronic Warfare (EW) and processing electronics product development for defense applications. The work will be full time on Advanced Concept Technology Development to invent, innovate and advance technology to unique technical solutions with state of the art FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) resources within system on a chip hardware components. The candidate will be central to systems design and integration working closely with systems engineers, mechanical engineers, analogy signal processing engineers and software engineers. The position will be located in Goleta, California.
The candidate is responsible for developing FPGA level requirements derived from system level requirements, developing associated architectures, implementing design, performing simulations and analysis and testing of the FPGA, module, and/or unit in a laboratory setting. The candidate will be familiar with latest technology trend in the area of microprocessor, memory, FPGA and interface protocols. The candidate will work in the product development team environment with system and software engineers. This position may require occasional business related travel.
•Minimum 5 years of experience in digital hardware design and testing
•Experience with microprocessor, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR (double data rate) and flash memories, block diagrams, parts lists, and design review packages for complex electronics
•Hands-on experience in testing of products using logic analyzer, high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, and FPGA debugging tools
•Experience with interfaces and bus standards such as: VME, PCI (peripheral component interconnect), PCIe (peripheral component interconnect express), VPX, and Gb Ethernet
•Experience designing with Xilinx and/or Intel (Altera) FPGAs
•Minimum 4 years of experience with FPGA design implementation/verification with VHDL design language
•Possess skills to handle fast pace and dynamic product development environment
•Strong team player with good interpersonal skills as well as effective written and excellent verbal communication skills
•The ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required as only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
•A deep desire to learn and engage in complex system design that connects imagination with reality
•Experience designing FPGAs with embedded microprocessors
•High end software game user and/or developer
Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with VHDL or Verilog design class work
Master Degree in Electrical Engineering and related engineering field is preferred with VHDL or Verilog design class work
